Once we started walking on the trail I saw the gate about halfway down. I couldn't believe it actually existed. I mean I figured it was just a myth but to see it in my own eyes. It was orgasmic to say the least. "Hey what's that over there?" I asked pointing at the top of the tower.
The first gate was a tower made of cobblestone that looked like it was a defense to a castle. "It looks like an old tower," Nathaniel said. "Yeah let's go check it out!" Mallory yelled and started running towards it. We all followed at her pace. I could barley contain my excitement.Once we got to the wooden door we realized the size of the tower. It was huge. I stood in front of the door. "Okay everybody, I have something to admit," I said looking at them. "I didn't bring you to go camping, this here is the first gate to hell, according to local lore. There are nine. Nobody has made it past five. There will be demons, there will be horror and pain. If you want to turn back now, I will not blame you. Nor will I make fun of you. I appriciated your company up to this point," I continued wondering who would leave. "I'm staying," Nathaniel said with determination. I knew he would stay. Mallory and TJ however are questionable. After a bit of thought Mallory also decided she would stay. "I don't wanna do this though," TJ started. "Then don't," I said. I couldn't have any uncertainty. The devil would drag your uncertain soul down so fast you get whip lash. "Well.." He started.
