FOUR: PICTURES
Kira awakens at the sound of a conversation. She sits down and tries to remember what happened before.
"She's ignorant. And a human. An ignorant human,"
She turns her head to the two figures sitting across the room, a flickering faint of a candle is the only light for the whole room, but barely showing their faces.
The voice. That voice. The last one she heard before blacking out.
The one that made her asleep. Her eyes widens as all of the images of the events earlier showed in her mind. She stares at the two figures. She can't understand much their murmurs at first, but she can clearly hear their voices.
"But, she didn't know, I'd say she's just innocent." A kinder, softer voice replies the former.
She feels comfort. That voice, the guy she first met in this mansion.
"Ignorant is the term for it, you are being too soft on her. Whether we like it or not, she's going to be my maid."
Kira cringes at the tone of that.
"Yours? But she said I'm her master. Besides, we still don't really know what the Old man was thinking, sending a maid, a human maid, to serve us. Is he out of his consciousness? Does the old man really trust us?" The softer voice replies, making Kira sigh in relief.
She can't belive she's trusting him. But she is.
"I don't know, Old man seemed to be upset when we said we were gonna start our own life. Without him. Where we can do what we want." The other one replies
"No, it's not because Old man is upset, it's because he doesn't trust us to live as we do now. He still thinks we will meddle with human businesses, we will cause commotion and destroy the town, that's why he sends a human, for us to satistfy ourselves with," the softer voice sighs.
"So then, shall be it." The rougher voice ends the conversation, "she's awake, excuse me for now."
Kira flinches as both pair of translucent emeralds stared at her like an object. Although the pressure doesn't keep her from wondering how their eyes could shine so bright in the dark.
Then she was surprised to see that the other pair of emeralds just disappeared like the blowing off of a candlelight.
"How are you?" The softer voice asks her, the sincere concern of his tone made Kira answer the truth abruptly.
"Confused. Scared. Helpless." She blurts and bows her head as soon as she realizes what she said. "Sorry, that was rude."
"It's okay, do you have any questions? I will answer them as soon as you dress up for dinner," the guy stands up and comes near to her. Kira suddenly feels self consious and covers herself up in her blanket.
"Go on, take a bath, or a shower. Here," Kira looks up to see him holding something white, she clutches it and feels a smooth and fluffy fabric. "Where's the bath?" She asks, holding the white towel firmly.
"Walk straight to the direction you're facing now. I'll be waiting after you take a bath."
"Okay."
Kira stands up, and suddenly feels a cold chill, she felt exposed after being in her warm blanket for a while. As she walks, the blanket falls off and she realizes that she is naked.
"Kya!" She shouts in shock and covers herself in the towel, "W-where are my clothes?"
"They were dirty, and wet, I had to remove them so that you won't catch a cold. You were already sneezing earlier as you sleep, until I had to put hot towels on you forehead had you stopped sneezing."
R-remove my clothes? Him?
"Is-Isn't that a bit rude?" Heat rushes up to her cheeks.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't risk it. If you had a cold, that would affect us too."
"O-oh." She nods, the information still loading on her mind.
"Go on then, I'll be waiting for you." The guy states.
With her cheeks still blushing a rosy pink, Kira nods and heads to the direction straight ahead.
~
"Do you want to roam around?" Her master asks Kira after she got out of the bath.
"N-now?" She stutters, she's just wearing a white fluffy towel and now she is needed to march around the big house, "I haven't even changed yet."
"Just come with me. You don't have clothing, do you?"
Kira' eyes widens as she realizes that she has no stuff. Nothing at all.
"See, now come with me," Her master turns to walk out of the door. Deciding that following and getting dressed is better that staying and being naked, Kira follows.
As she goes out of the room, she first sees the chandelier hanging at the center of the ceiling, she holds her breath as she notices how the mansion looks like, viewed from the second floor. The crimson colored draperies that hang on both opposite sides of the mansion was more livelier than ever, the main black door at the center of the wall looked a bit brighter. At this point, Kira finally notices some of the things she didn't get to see before, the paintings on the wall.
The paintings were magnificent, Kira marveled at how the colors of the pictures on the wall matched the mansion's inside pearl coating. At the left side, she sees a sunset, a beach, and a beautiful portrait of twin girls along with two more females. The twin girl at the left of the portrait, has brown eyes, just like her, although the girl's eyes are more lighter, looking almost scarlet. She is wearing a cheerful beam on her face, at the right, the other has a paint material on her hands, with cold ocean blue eyes, that matches the emotionless expression on her face. The two females at the center are smiling, the other one with dark coal brown eyes holds a book on her hands, while beside her, the other has light cyan-hazel eyes and has her hands on her back.
Kira turns at the right side of the mansion and observes a painting of two females in an attire of knights, both of them has these strange, but beautiful grey eyes. The female at the left of the portrait holds a sword on her hands, on the right, the other one holds a bow, both serious looking but with a little smile. Beside the portrait lies two males, both with familiar emerald eyes, she narrowes her eyes when she realizes that these were the very guys whom she met first at this place. As she is about to look at the last portrait,
"And here I was, thinking I lost you on the way,"
Kira abruptly turns to see her master, huffing, with his hands on his kness as he bends to inhale more oxygen,
"You should have stopped me and enjoyed the scene instead of making me go alone and letting me worry if they might have did anything to you," he complains, his emeralds reflecting the silver light of the chandelier, making it look like grey-greenish rather than green.
"S-sorry. I couldn't help it, the paintings were nice." Kira musters a smile, she feels comfortable around this guy already, and she finds it a bit of heart melting how this guy would worry about her.
But she can't overlook the word 'they'.
"They who?" She asks but her master also said something, making them sound gibberish at the same time.
The guy chuckles, "what?"
Kira is supposed to ask again but a cold wind brushed against her thigh, heat rises up to her cheeks when she realizes she is still exposed,
"I mean, can we go now?" She says in a bit of rush.
The guy smiles at her, followed by a sigh, "Sure, here," he offers a hand
Kira looks reluctantly at him, and he shruggs and says, "I don't want you leaving me, and vice versa, now hold it." He orders
Kira nods and takes it.
