SIX- DINNER
The door opens to an empty dining room.
Kira's nervousness dies down, replaced by curiousity.
"So, uhh, where is everybody?" Kira finally asks.
Her master proceeds to the elegant long table with a complete set of 10 seats-- 5 chairs occupy each opposite side. 2 red, brightly colored roses stands at the center. The chandelier above the table isn't as bright as it's supposed to be, but enough to light the room.
He pulls out a seat, "Come on now,"
At the books she read, she can't imagine that this is how a noble dinner would look like. But she knows, that even if she's simple, everyone should gather for dinner.
"Where'e everyone?" She asks again.
"Minding their own businesses, I suppose," Her master seems to be amused at his own sarcastic answer.
"Oh." Kira gets what he meant and goes to seat, "thank you."
Her master seats beside her, "Do you want to talk first, or eat?"
Kira doesn't need to answer, her master chuckles, "Fine then, question?"
Thousands of questions fluttered in Kira's mind, she doesn't know how to start.
"What's for dinner?"
A stupid thing to ask
"Anything you want." Her master smiles, amused. "Fine, if you don't know what to ask, I'll start talking about the things that are necessary for you to know so that you can stay."
"Okay." Kira smiles, liking how her master understands her completely.
"We are ten, all of us, living in this mansion. No need to know the other staff. I happen to be the second oldest in the circle, and my brother, you saw him I presume, is two years younger than me, and is the fourth oldest. We--"
"How old are you then?" Kira can't stop to interrupt. She wonders if he might be at her age.
"I'm on my seventeenth year," he replies, "shall I continue?"
So, she's two years younger. But she still couldn't help wondering how he could look so young.
"The ten, I mean, you, uh, are you all siblings?" She asks again,
Her maters smiles, "the questions are finally popping in. And no, we are all just friends, and as I stated earlier, I only have one brother."
Speaking of his brother,
"Um, how did I faint? Why did I end up waking at bed earlier?" Kira asks,
"For me, I knew you'd faint, eventually, since you were exhausted and had a high fever. But then my brother wanted to test you already, so he hit you at the back of you neck so that you'll sleep already."
"T-test?"
"It's not necessary for you to know to stay here." Her master answers.
"Oh." A test. What kind of test? What is that? Kira wanted to ask more, but she knew it would be useless.
"Do you have any other things to ask?" Her master looks at her, "or should we call everyone for dinner now?"
So I'm going to be eating with everybody, after all.
The nervousness she felt before explodes like a bomb in her stomach.
"Uhh. I still have something to ask." She reasons out, thinking of how to ask the things she wants to know.
