Tainted Love

Chapter 1

"You're awake," a dark voice says.

Rey's eyes flutter open. The room was dark, and her vision marred by the haze in her head. Her body ached, but she could not remember why. Then it all came back.

"I was frozen by that bantha fodder, Kylo Ren," She thought. "All I remember is him saying 'forget the droid, we have what we need,' then darkness.

As her vision cleared she took in her surroundings. She was bound to a metal chair, and across the room from her, sitting in a stool, was Kylo Ren. Her body seized up in tension as he started towards her.
"The girl I've heard so much about," he mused. "You still want to kill me."

Why wouldn't I want to kill him!

"When you're being hunted by a creature in a mask you would too," she spit at him.

Kylo was a bit taken aback by this remark; it angered him. Instead of replying, Kylo reached up and unlatched his helmet; with one swift, angry movement he tore of his helmet and flicked his hair back.

Now it was Rey's turn to be astounded. Seeing his human face made him more real, more life-like, and she faltered for words. Something fluttered down deep in her stomach. All she could think was," There really is a human under there. A child of the dark. So beautiful..."

"Stop it!" her brain yelled at her heart. "He is not beautiful! He has killed throngs of innocent people!" She shook her head to clear the feeling.

Kylo continued to stare into Rey's eyes. He began to draw nearer, and Rey felt a different presence fill her mind. Unwillingly, she began to see her entire life flash before her eyes in terrible segments.

"Ah, I see. You're alone," Ren says," You're so alone in this world. All you want is somebody, anybody."

Rey fought against this unseen force that was in her head, but made very little progress.

"Get out of my head," she said through gritted teeth.

"There's an ocean, yes I see it," he says. "You long to flee to it."

Rey was beginning to get annoyed. What did this nerf herder think he was doing in her head? The longer he was in there the more another force grw inside her that she couldn't recognize.

"Don't worry, I feel it too," Ren remarked after discovering the strange power in Rey's mind.

"Interesting," he thought,"the scavenger scum has small traces of the Force within her; she does not recognize."

An idea came to him. "What if I can help her discover it? I could train her. Supreme Leader Snoke would be very pleased."

Rey was still fighting against Kylo Ren, but decided instead to focus on the bizarre force building inside her. She closed her eyes, and felt it envelop her whole being. Then she opened her eyes and focus on Ren. To her surprise, she could see into his mind as he was doing to her.

It was a dark place; filled with hatred, anger, and most of all: fear. She decided to use this against him.

"You are afraid," she said, making Ren's grasp on her mind falter. "You are afraid that you will never be as great as Darth Vader."

This snapped Kylo Ren, and all at once he relinquished his hold on Rey's mind. He's was furious! How could she have known that?! That was his deepest, darkest insecurity. This girl was strong, and though it infuriated him to say it, he found her force attractive and interesting.

Something built up inside of him that had not been for a long time, but he could not put a name to it, and quickly cast it aside. Ren could not stand this scavenger any longer. Using the energy from his anger he knocked Rey out as he had before, and stormed out of the room.
