"How nice of you to join us Moose." Called Crowley as he stared at Sam and Castiel.
"I see you brought Cerberus's chew toy with you. How are you doing by the way Castiel? You look awful I must admit. What's this about wanting the Calvary Nails though? I must say I'm intrigued."
Sam paused for a moment before he spoke. "Well, Dean was turned into woman by a dying witch that he slept with."
Rowena interjected. "That Dean, he can't ever keep it in his pants can he?"
"That's what I keep saying." Said Castiel tiredly.
"Anyhow," Sam continued. "Dean now being Deanne was captured by the three furies and taken to a cave. They've already killed two people and if they kill her, then they'll rise and yeah. The nails are the only thing that can kill the furies and we'd like them."
Crowley sat and pondered the offer. "How do I know that Deanne is still alive. If she's dead, you could use the nails to end me or pretty much anything save God."
Castiel staggered on his feet and walked forward to Crowley.
"We have a profound bond and if she was dead, I would be dead as well. That's your proof." Suddenly, he doubled over into a fit of hacking and coughing. Bloody wounds appeared on his hands and his feet and a blackening stain spread across his trench coat. He fell to the marble floor and Sam raced to his side but halted when air forced it's way around his neck via Rowena's magic.
"That's enough mother." Called Crowley.
Rowena relented and Sam breathed in a huge gulp of air before he began to shake Cas.
"Hey Cas are you okay? Come on answer me."
Cas stared up at Sam with a tremble set in his jaw and unabashed horror in his eyes.
"I didn't mean to do it Sam. I couldn't control myself and I let him in and now I can't take back what I did."
Castiel continued to mutter to himself and when Crowley grew restless and unamused he snapped his fingers and Castiel vanished from the throne room. Sam looked at him in shock before Crowley blatantly responded saying,
"I grew tired of hearing his incessant muttering. I must admit this whole ordeal with the furies intrigues me but why should I help you? You've tried to kill me multiple times not to mention Dean's stunt with becoming a demon and not just any demon, a colossal douche of a demon. What can you possibly offer me in return for the nails?"
"Well Crowley, Dean becoming a demon was Cain's fault not mine. Every time we've attempted to kill you it's because you sent demons after us or back stabbed us. Also I don't want to make this deal but if we don't then Dean will die and I can't have that happen."
Crowley pondered for a minute before he turned to Rowena and asked her opinion.
"Well Fergus, it's quite obvious from his actions that he desperately needs the nails but I wouldn't just give them to him." Rowena turned to Sam.
"If you give us full immunity from yourselves and all hunters and Angels then we'll give you the nails. That seems like a fair little bargain Sam."
Sam thought to himself. He really didn't want to give Crowley and Rowena immunity but if he didn't, then Deanne would die and the furies which sounded worse than any demon would rise and the world would be plunged into eternal darkness.
"Fine. Give me the nails and I'll go it. Also give me Castiel back."
"First thing first Moose, sign the contract. I can't give you the nails if I you don't sign."
Sam grabbed a pen and was about to set it to the paper when Crowley stopped him.
"Blood Sam. Sign in your blood. Blood is legally binding in hell. Also there isn't any loopholes or hidden things in the contract as we're hell and not Wall Street."
Crowley proceeded to give Sam a knife and he watched as the hunter sliced open his skin and dipped a black feather in it as he scrawled his name on the contract.
"Very well then." Said Crowley a she rolled up the contract and sent it away. "You see Moose, the problem with the nails is that they aren't on my person. They're down the hallway of mirrors that even I won't go through. To get the nails and Castiel, you go through the hall or you can leave without them and our contract is still legally binding. Either way, it's up to you."
Sam sighed in exasperation. "Fine Crowley, I'll venture through your hall of mirrors if it so pleases you."
With that, Sam was pushed through the doors and plunged into darkness when they closed on him. The darkness was soon replaced with an eerie and blue incandescent glow. Sam saw mirrors surrounding him and a long pathway stretched to a wide clearing, where, quite ironically, the nails lay embedded in a cross and hung on that cross was Castiel.
"Cas!" Sam yelled as he began to sprint through the hallway, the mirrors glinting back a blurred reflection.
Sam neared Castiel but was suddenly snapped back by an invisible force. He landed hard on his tailbone and he winced in pain. Looking up at the mirror in front of him he saw himself but it wasn't his reflection.
The reflection smiled cruelly and a menacing anger gleamed in his eyes, showing Sam that this wasn't his reflection. It a taunting image of what he could be.
"I'm you Sammy or at least I will be." The demon continued to taunt Sam, riling him up further and further.
"You'll kill everyone you love and sooner rather than later they'll come back and they'll kill you too."
Sam rose to his feet and he slammed his fist into the mirror, glass shards impaling his skin and blood bubbling from the contusions.
He winced in pain before he continued on to where the cross stood. He reached the cross and Castiel stared at him, muttering incoherently the entire time.
"Hold on a minute Cas." Called Sam as he pulled Cas from the cross, slinging him over his shoulder and carefully making sure that he didn't hurt the man any further. He wrapped his free hand around the nail and pulled it free from its wooden tomb. Castiel let out a pained howl as the motion jarred Sam's shoulder.
"Sorry Cas." Called Sam as he pulled out the second and third nails. He pocketed the nails and left through the door behind the cross.
££££
Sam put Castiel down on the bed and gently shook him."Hey Cas, wake up. I need to know what you were mumbling when we saw Crowley and Rowena. It could be important and I need to know what it was."
Cas stared at Sam with a grave expression on his face.
"I killed Deanne, Sam. I stabbed a knife through her chest when I was possessed by Lucifer and now she's dead. The furies will rise and it's all my fault. I killed her Sam and I can't take that back."
Sam looked at Castiel with a shocked expression.
Deanne was dead?
She was gone?
Deanne was dead.
