So I guess this is like a college AU, but the focus isn't on college. The point is that they're both single, young adult males who just so happen to have apartments right across from each other. Enjoy! :3

Cas's POV

"AHHHH!!!!!!" I woke up screaming, shaking from the nightmare I had. I looked over at the clock. 3:23, it read. I sigh, and turn on the light. Regaining my surroundings, I sat up completely and rubbed at my eyes. I decide to get up and go to the bathroom, and I splash my face with some water. I should try to get some sleep, I thought, climbing back into bed. I turned out the light, and lay down. However, as soon as I shut my eyes, I was plagued with the images of my nightmare.

I quickly turned on the light again, and looked around. Relax, I thought to myself, you know it was just a dream. Be logical here. This wasn't helping, however, so I got up and walked into my kitchen/dining room/living room area. Seeing the kitchen wasn't helping my nerves either, but then I remembered something. My good friend, Dean, who lived just across the hall, had once told me, "If there's ever a time you need me, even if it's early in the morning or late at night, never hesitate to come and get me. I'm here for you." He always said "no chick flick moments," but he seemed to have a soft spot for me. I had a crush on him, but to him I was just his best friend. Still, that was what I needed, so I opened my door and walked across the hall.

Dean's POV

I woke up to someone knocking on my door. I looked over at the clock, and groaned. Who would be waking me up at 3:30 in the morning?

I sighed, got up, and walked over to the door. When I opened it, I was slightly surprised to see Cas standing there. He looked like he was about to cry. "Cas...come on in," I urged. He walked in, and I shut the door behind him.

As soon as I turned around, he threw his arms around me in a tight embrace. I was taken aback, but if Cas was this distraught I knew it had to be bad, so I returned the hug.

After a few minutes, I pulled away, but kept close. "Now, tell me what's wrong, Cas," I said. "I want to help you." He looked up at me, and I saw his eyes glistening with tears threatening to spill out.
"I...had a really bad nightmare," he said. He seemed embarassed.
"Hey, dreams can be pretty freaking terrifying," I said. I paused, debating on whether or not I should ask him what it was about. Eventually, my curiosity got the better of me. "What was it about?"

Cas's POV
I stiffened when Dean said that. "I don't mean to push you," he said quickly, "I just think it may help you to talk about it and get it off your chest." I sighed. Maybe he was right. I took a deep breath.
"Well..."

I was running through a field in the middle of the forest. It was getting darker by the minute, and it started to rain. I saw a small house farther ahead, so I sprinted inside. However, I saw some dark shadows outside, so I hid in the kitchen. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and in stepped a shadowy figure. It was much bigger than I was. I ducked below the countertop level. I squeezed my eyes shut, but quickly opened them when I heard it step into the kitchen. It turned to its right, and saw me. Its eyes lit up, and the creature started running at me.

"...and that's when I woke up," I finished. I breathed a sigh of relief. "You were right, I feel a little better. Thanks, Dean."

"Yeah, no problem," he said. "Uh, are you going to be able to sleep?" he asked. I shrugged. "Well, uh, if you wanted you could stay here," he said. I wasn't sure, but I thought I saw him blush. I smirked. Do I have that effect on him?
"Sure," I replied, "if it's not awkward for you."
He grinned. "Naw, Cas, it's fine."

Dean's POV
I was glad to have him stay. I may or may not have a crush on him...okay so I'm basically in love with my best friend.

I walked into my bedroom to get a few blankets, but Cas followed me and climbed into my bed. "Oh, we're sharing?" I asked, smirking with one eyebrow raised.

He blushed. "Oh, uh, sorry."
I shrugged. "It's fine. Besides, I don't think my couch is very comfortable anyway; I don't mind if you sleep in here if you don't mind."

"Okay," he said. I climbed in next to him, and slipped under the covers.
"Good night, Cas," I said.
"Good night Dean."

Cas's POV
I woke up again in the morning. I froze. Someone was pushed up against me, and had their arm around me. I was curled up against their chest. Dean... I remembered. I smiled into his chest.

He woke up shortly after, and pulled away. "Crap, I'm sorry Cas," he apologized quickly.
"Don't be," I said. "It was kinda comforting, actually," I said, blushing. He smiled.

We sat up, and just stared at each other's eyes. They're such a beautiful green, I thought. He smiled. "Thanks," he said, chuckling. Oh crap I said that out loud. Crap crap crap--

He smiled, closed his eyes, and leaned in. Suddenly, we were kissing. My eyes widened in shock, but I closed them once I relaxed. I kissed back, hungrily, as I had wanted this for a long time. He licked my bottom lip, asking for entrance, but I teased him by denying him. He then grabbed my butt, and I gasped; he took that opportunity to put his tongue in my mouth. I didn't mind though.

As we pulled away, panting and gasping for air, he said, "You don't know how long I've wanted to do that."
"Same here," I said. I smiled; this was going to be a good day.
