Chapter 8: When I Look In Her Eyes

"Tom. What's going on?" She says worried. I help her out of her bed and we go over to Newt and the others.

We realize guards are making their was to the door, so Newt flips a table over and puts it in front of the door. "We have to get out." I say loudly. I look around the room to find an escape route. I see the window. I pick up a chair and and hit the glass. It doesn't break!

"Newt! Help me!" Newt picks up a chair and we smash the window at the same time.

I jump over the broken window while signaling Teresa to come over. She puts a blanket over it because she's barefoot. I pick her up and bring her to where there is no glass.

Once we are all out of the room, we run to a doorway. When we are there, there is guard looking at us with a gun pointed towards us. I pick up my gun and shoot him. I look at the gun in amazement of what it did.

We keep running towards the door. I use the keycard and swipe it multiple times. "Shit." I say when it says 'declined' I hear a voice behind us "Thomas."

"Open the door Janson! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!"

"I can't do that!" He claims. I look behind me and see Minho try to unlock the door.

"I need you to understand something." Janson said softly. "WICKED is good?" I ask sarcastically.

SSSSHKKK

I look behind me to see that Minho got electrocuted. I run to him and turn to Teresa. "What happened?" "The door electrocuted him.." I hand her the gun. She walks towards Janson and starts shooting.

Then, her ammo runs out. Newt is still trying to open the door and I'm helping Minho up. Teresa throws the gun and starts running towards us. "Hurry!" I say loudly.

I see Janson whisper something into his watch. Suddenly, a wall with glass in the middle, falls right I front of Teresa and stops her in her tracks.

"Teresa!!" I scream and start running towards the wall.

She puts her hand on the glass, "TOM!!"

I eventually get there and put my hands on the other side of the glass. "Hey! You gonna be ok!" I say when I see tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Teresa." Janson says smirking. She turns around and looks at him then, looks back at me. She has fear written all over her eyes.
