Hey, I'm Stella

"Stella," My Aunt Carol shouted up to me, "You're going to be late again".

"I'm up, I think" I yelled back.

"You better be," She replied, "Holly's already up".

"Holly is always up before me" I replied before literally rolling out of bed and landing on the floor with a thud. I threw on a ripped pair of denim shorts, a blue and grey flannel, and my hightop vans and ran down the two flights of stairs. Having my room in the attic may give me privacy, but going down two whole flights of stairs at six in the morning isn't exactly what I had in mind.

In my family, there are six kids. I'm the oldest at 15, then there's Holly, she's ten. The first pair of twins are Knox and Fallon, they're seven. Finally, there's the toddlers, Warner and Hadley, and they are just over two.

Moving on to the non-human parts of my family. There's grandpa Roo, he's our oldest cat at ten, he's a brown tabby. I was five when we found him and I insisted that we would bring it home. He's Knox's best friend. Then there's Leia, our persian, she's six and was a "gift" from my grandmother, Fallon loves her. Canyon's our husky, she's three. We rescued her when she was a puppy. Holly and her do everything together, she even paints the dog's nails. Then there's our two year old Russian Blue, Mystique. She's my cat, and likes to sleep on my pillow. And I'll tell you, it's not annoying at all. '

Oh, my parents, forgot about them. My mom and dad were Jack and Angela Jordan, but while I was away, they were killed in the Star City attacks. I had to come back from Odym early so I could help with my siblings, but I live with my Uncle Hal and Aunt Carol now.

Sorry, I didn't properly introduce myself. My name is Estelle Dorothea Jordan, ignore my horrible middle name. I'm a Coast City girl, and getting to Mount Justice (which is in Rhode Island by the way) is hell after school. I'm multi-lingual, I think that's the word for it. I speak English (obviously), Spanish, Thanagarian, and Atlantean. I joined, rather was chosen, to join the Blue Lantern Corps. Yup, the very first Blue Lantern of Earth right here.

I sluggishly walked into the kitchen and poured myself a bowl of stale Reese's Puffs, grabbed my backpack and lunch money and ran out the door to catch the bus. I saw the bus up ahead and sprinted as fast I could to get to it. The door open with a screech and I stepped aboard. Immediately, I put my earbuds in. I'd honestly rather listen to Eminem than the sound of high schoolers on a bus .

"Hey Gorgeous" A voice says sarcastically.

"Hey loser" I say back.

This is the voice of Derrick Strayer, my neighbor/best friend. You see, I'm a lesbian, if you already couldn't tell, and once you get to high school, guys accept you as another guy eventually. Fuck gender roles.

Fast forward to Math Class.

"Miss Jordan" A familiar voice said.

I wasn't paying attention though, it was math class, and I wasn't interested.

"Miss Jordan, I expect you will know the material for Monday" Mr.Bruster said, "Your Biology and Social Studies awards won't get you everywhere".

"It'll get me far enough" I mumbled.

"What was that" He asked.

"Sorry Mr. Bruster" I mumbled once again back.

I'm pretty sure that Mr. Bruster is a middle aged homophobic man who enjoys doing taxes and playing chess with one of his seven cats.

Anyways back to Algebra 2, and my math teacher hating me. I had been hopelessly watching the clock the entire class period, waiting for the bell. Then, my moment of truth came, and the bell rang.

"Complete the packet over the weekend, I expect you will all have it done" Mr. Bruster said as we flooded out the door.

I had study hall next, and then I got to leave. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

hey you still in class?

It was Wally, he still didn't understand time zones. If you're in Rhode Island, and someone else is in California, there'a a three hour time difference.

"Finally got a boyfriend, Jordan?" A familiar voice asked.

"We've gone over this Derrick, I'm lesbian and I'm texting my gay friend" I replied.

"Oh right," He said sarcastically, "You coming to the game tonight? I'm running back".

"Nah, I've gotta go to Rhode Island, to um, visit family" I replied.

"Seriously, Rhode Island," Derrick asked, "Where?"

"Happy Harbor" I blurted out. What? It's not like I know any other places in Rhode Island.

"Cool, I'll see you around" He said.

"Bye loser" I said pushing his back as he walked away.

I would tell you about my study hall, but it was so boring that it wasn't worth mentioning, sorry, I got off the bus at like, 2:30 and I ran home. As much as I wanted to fly, it wasn't worth the civilian attention. I threw my bag together and grabbed my power ring, which I taped to the inside of my pocket, just to be safe. Within minutes the zeta tube had teleported me into Mount Justice.

Confession time! I have a huge, mega, extreme lesbian crush on Artemis. I'm cool around her, unlike Wally is with Robin, but you don't know how much I want it to happen.
