Blue Lantern

The Dog

Strange cargo was being shipped from the island of Santa Prisca again, and that meant Bane was up to something again, and that meant that the team would have to go figure out was that was. Artemis and I were paired up to go out on patrol, luckily for me.

"I thought we destroyed all that kobra venom stuff" I said.

"Apparently not" Artemis replied.

Suddenly, a high pitched howl was heard in the distance.

"Wait, is that a puppy?" I asked.

"Sounds like it" Artemis replied.

"We're are going to find that dog".

"But the mission"

"Nope, the dog"

So we went off in search of the dog, or what we thought was a dog. Nah I'm just messing with you, it's a dog. I flew up for a better view, when I saw one of Bane's henchmen holding a animal carrier, ready to board a helicopter.

"I see it" I said, "Follow me".

We both hid behind a tree on opposite sides before Artemis released a net arrow, ensnaring the henchman. I projected ropes around the man's hands and feet.

"What's with the dog?" Artemis asked.

"Ha, like I'm gonna tell you" He spat out his words.

She aimed her bow directly at his face, "Don't test me".

Fear was immediately struck into the face of the man, "Y-you can keep the dog, I was only the transpo-".

A gunshot was heard from behind them, it was Bane and his henchmen.

'M'gann, requesting backup now' I said through the telepathic link.

Artemis aimed her bow at Bane, and fired the explosive arrow at him. We both knew it wouldn't kill him, but it would slow him down for now. Seconds later, Kid Flash and Robin appeared at the scene.

"You called" Wally said in a smug voice.

"Oh, just shut up and fight" Artemis said before firing a net arrow and taking out two henchman.

I went straight for Bane, projecting a powerful light beam at him. Although she was using a lot of force into the beam, his serum made him unbelievably strong. But, before I knew it, Bane was lying on the ground. I turned to find Conner and M'gann smiling on what they just helped me accomplish. Artemis, Wally, Robin, and Kaldur took out the rest of the henchman. We were about to board the bioship when we heard the howl the dog once more. 

I flew over to the small crate resting my the tree to find a small bloodhound puppy.

"We're keeping him" I declared before opening it up and carrying the small dog onto the bioship.

---------later that night----------

I got home late, concealing the puppy under my jacket, only to find my Uncle Hal standing in front of me.

"Where have you been?" He asked.

"Just got back from a mission on Santa Prisca" I replied.

"And, what's under your jacket?".

"Nothing" I said before attempting to run for the stairs, but at the last moment, he grabbed my jacket.

"OH, NO" He said sternly, "You are not bringing another dog into this house, isn't three cats and a dog enough?".

"Yeah but he's just a puppy and he won't be able to survive on his own, and he's got no family, and we found him on Santa Prisca and we think he might have been exposed to a form of Kobra venom or the serum that Bane uses, so we can't be sure and we've both handled things much worse so I figured that we could keep him" I said in one big, long sentence.

Uncle Hal just continued to stare at me.

"I named him Sherlock" I said to try to lighten the mood.

He sighed, "Fine, you can keep the dog". 

I then ran upstairs triumphantly, and gave Sherlock some food because fuck that dog must be hungry.
