Kyara The Zombie Slayer

Chapter 11

I get out of the shower, put on my clothes, and walk out to see where we are. We stopped at a closed grocery store this time. So there will hopefully be no zombies. We cover Jodie as she picks the lock then we go inside. So far it's quiet, but that's what happened last time. We're doing things differently this time and together we're checking the entire store before we start collecting supplies.

So far there have been no zombies. We only have one place left to look, a room marked "DANGER, DO NOT ENTER!" Well there's no one to arrest us so, we're goin' in.

It's a metal room with nothing but a laptop. After about 6 years of hacking into computers from NASA I think I got this. After 3 minutes of hacking the system I finally got something, on the back wall of the room a door appears. We open the door up and I think it's an elevator. I press the down button and feel us start to fall. When it opens again we're in a lab(why would they put that under a god damn grocery store!?). We start to look around the lab and I hear...crying? I start to walk towards the sound. I turn a corner and see a zombie in a cage. But this isn't a normal zombie, cause they don't cry. I walk in front of the cage and it looks up at me with tears in its eyes. Wait, his eyes. "Help." He cries. This lab must have been trying to find a way to cure the infection. It looks like it was going to work. Considering he can talk, can understand me, and is not looking at me like I'm lunch. Although he still looks and smells like a zombie. "What's your name?" I ask him. "I'm Herbert." "I'm Kyara, this is my boyfriend Alex, my sister Jodie, and her boyfriend Brandon." "Nice to meet you." "We're you a test subject?" "Well I guess so, I'm just the first zombie they could catch. The needle that they gave me would have worked if I wasn't infected for too long." "Where did the scientists go?" "They went to get more ingredients but they never came back." I let Herbert out of his cage and the five of us head back to the elevator. "So your like a human on the inside and a zombie on the outside?" Jodie asks Herbert. "Technically yes." He answers. "Does that mean that if you walk into a group of zombies they won't bother with you they'll just think your one of them?" Asks Alex. "Yep." He replies. I relies that Herbert could be useful for us. He could go anywhere to get us supplies and we won't have to worry about dying! This is like the best news ever! Once we get back up to the store we get our supplies and we go back into the RV. Now that we have Herbert this trip will go a lot smoother...I hope.
