AN- Thanks so much to @Muffin_OT for this cool book cover!

The days pass quickly. We wake up every morning for drills in the barn, followed by a swim in the lake. I can't explain how tired I am, Alto is working us to the bone. We meet four of the other recruits, Sam and Toby, who I recognised from my first time here, and Sasha and Will.

I'll tell you one truth and one lie.

The Circle is good.

The Circle is bad.

Anna still suspects nothing; not that I kidnapped her or brought her here. She doesn't understand why she is here. Not yet. Even I don't know and I'm her best friend.

Why would Jim want her specifically?

Why couldn't you have just refused?

"Right! Anna, Cass, Arran, come and take a walk with me," Alto calls to us, as we practice our knife throwing in the barn.

This can't be good

We follow him outside and into the ops room near the office. We meet Tom in there, who has a grim expression on his face, but brightens when he see's us walk in. Never would I have thought that Tom would be happy to see me.

This really can't be good.

He walks over to us cracking his knuckles, before picking up something off the desk, which supports a vast wall of screens. He gives us a sadistic grin, almost enjoying the discomfort we feel.

"Come on man, just give it already," Alto grumbles, Cass nodding in agreement.

Tom hands each of us a file, one after the other. We open them simultaneously, eyes quickly skimming the contents. My eyes widen.

TOP SECRET. OPERATION-MOLE

Our first mission. You can't say Tom doesn't have a sense of humour.

We find our selves in the sewers in London, (underground...mole? Told you Tom was a schadenfreude) after climbing down a ladder from the street above. Cass starts to walk ahead of Anna and I, shining a torch on the surroundings.

"Urgh, I'm going to smell like piss for a week," I hear Anna grumble to herself. I chuckle, but soon choke on the heavy smell that appears from nowhere.

We have reached the main shaft in the sewer, which smells revolting. The tunnel curves around us, but drips with grime. The black sludge in the gully between the two walkways moves slowly and in places creates large pools.

We walk for what seems like hours, all the while listening to Alto giving us instructions in the comms in our ears.

"YO DUDES BACK UP!" Alto suddenly yells. We all cringe from the sudden shout, groaning at him to shut the eff up.

"Geez I was just saying you missed the turning." Cass swivels the torch around until it lands on a small corridor which branches off from the main shaft of the sewer.

I gulp audibly. Glancing down the corridor, the darkness seems to consume all the light, as it is pitch black.

Cass starts to slowly advance down the corridor, creeping ever so slowly. We follow quietly behind her, sticking close together. The air around us grows denser, choking almost. A quiet, insistence tap starts pounding somewhere,
