Sitting on the ground, back up against an RV, you sighed. The previous action had left you in a mess. Walkers had attacked the drug store your group resided in, killing off one of your group members.
"Hey," Lee approached you, Clementine in tow. "There is a rumor going around that you and Glenn were thinking of leaving." Clementine sat down next to you, stretching out her tiny legs.
"Yeah." Was your only reply.
"Why?" The little girl next to you asked, her voice soft and laced with sadness.
"I think Atlanta is our best bet....." You looked down quickly, before looking up to meet his eyes, "You're welcome to come."
"I know, but....." He spared a glance at Carly, then over to Kenny and his family.
"It's okay," you stated before he could continue, "I understand."
"When are you two setting off?"
Thinking for a second, you answered. "I don't know, I guess whenever Glenn wants to go." You also looked over at your remaining group members, "Do they know?"
Letting out a sigh, Lee shook his head, "I don't think they know for sure. You gonna tell them?"
"Might as well..."
You and Clementine stood, and Lee waited. The three of you then proceeded to walk towards the middle of the lot.
Kenny broke away from his wife and son, and approached you.
"You leavin'?" His voice was gruff, but you could tell that he was slightly upset.
"Yeah." You hesitated, "You mind getting everyone else's attention for me?"
He nodded, before sharply yelling out to the rest of the group. "Hey! Everyone, listen up!"
"What do you want, Kenny?" Lilly spat from her seat next to her father, Larry.
"Um," you shuffled your feet, slightly nervous. "Glenn and I are heading towards Atlanta."
Scoffing, Larry jumped in, "And? What the hell do you two think that is going to accomplish? Everything is fucked up! You can't escape it!"
Glenn walked over, glaring at the old man, "We don't know that. I heard it's safe there." You nodded in agreement.
"Look, we need you guys! You need us." Lilly argued, but you shook your head.
"I'm sorry Lilly, but we already made up our minds."
"Hey," Carly patted your back, "I wish you both luck."
"Thanks."
~~~
Handing you some supplies, Kenny gave you a small smile. "Seriously, Y/N. Be safe."
"Thanks Kenny, I'll miss ya." He Ruffles your hair playfully, before turning to Glenn.
They both exchanged a few words, but in the end they were shaking hands.
"You both are going to die! You just wait and see, bitch!" He directed that last sentence towards you, but you just turned and smiled.
"Trust me Larry, I won't miss you at all!" You called, before turning to a chuckling Lee. Clementine was next to him, on the verge of tears.
"Take care," Lee said, giving you a semi-awkward hug, "be safe."
"You too."
"Please don't leave." Clementine begged, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Aww, Clemmy." You bent down and gave her a big hug, "I have to go, I'm sorry." A sob escaped her lips, "I'm gonna miss you so much."
After saying good bye to everyone else, Glenn approached you.
"Y/N, are you ready?" He asked, grabbing your hand and giving it a squeeze.
"Yeah." You spared a glance at everyone else, "I'm ready."
~~~
Starting up the car, Glenn turned to you. "We should make a promise."
"What kind of promise?" You asked, cocking your head to one side.
"Um, that we both will protect each other no mater what." He then rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, "Jeez, that sounded cheesy."
Laughing, you shook your head, "A little, but.." You grinned at him, "I promise."
Chuckling also, he grinned back as well, "Well, I promise too."
You both joked and laughed through out the whole ride.
