conservation of energy — law that states that energy of the universe remains constant; it can be transformed from one form to another but can never be destroyed nor created
===========================
EVERYTHING AROUND me froze. Time stood still. The agonizing walk from where I was sitting to the podium was too painful, I wanted to back out.
Each step closer felt like hell and the contact my feet and the floor made burned me.
I closed my eyes when I finally reached it. I took a deep and big breath and I bit my lips to stop myself from letting out a curse.
Shit, doing this was a mistake. I should've just declined.
I opened my eyes and I winced at the sea of people in black, mirroring the state of melancholy I was in.
The crumpled piece of paper was tightly held in my left hand. It was already worn out from the amount of times I have held on to it as I tried to memorize it.
But it didn't matter. I couldn't even remember a single thing.
I forced myself to look down as I cleared my throat, avoiding the tinge of pity laced in the pupils of the people present and spoke from my heart.
"West has always had a firm belief that we are all energy beings. That every single cell in us is a vibrating energy." I paused, still looking down.
"And he once told me about this law. The Law of Conservation of Energy. It states that energy can never be created nor destroyed. It just changes states." I let out a chuckle bewildered at the words coming out of my mouth.
"This isn't a Physics class so don't worry. But this will make sense after. So bear with me please."
"We are composed of cells and when we die, these cells will change states, find a new purpose. They will form trees, they will be in the air surrounding us, they will be above us twinkling."
I looked up and was welcomed with the white puffy clouds scattered across the blue firmament.
"I'm saying this to remind myself, and you. But mostly, myself." I paused my voice cracking up.
"That while West is no longer physically around us, the cells and atoms that once were a part of him are surrounding us. With a purpose to serve us continuously in different ways. Because when I look around and I see the trees slightly swaying from the cold breeze of the wind, I could feel him. I could feel the warmth of his arms wrapped against me in a tight manner. When I look above and I see the bright stars splattered across the entire nightsky, I could feel him. I could feel him watching over me and reprimanding me for getting into trouble. And that wherever I go, I will always be home."
