"Patrick," I here someone whisper, I must have passed out. "Patrick," They whisper again. I open my eyes slightly and my vision sharpens enough for me to see Pete hovering above me. "How do you feel?"
"Tired." I responded honestly. I just want to sleep for eight more days.
"Patrick, you slept all day. I made you coffee," He said and I turned my head to see a steaming mug.
"Thanks," I muttered, my eyes drooping slightly.
"Patrick, you have to get up. My dad, Tyler, and Josh are home." He said and I nodded. "I brought some clothes from your house, they're on the desk." He said before leaving and shutting the door behind him.
I got up and got dressed in some jeans and a flannel and a hat, because my hair just isn't cooperating (it isn't most days, I don't understand why I thought today would be an exception).
I walked down stairs to see Pete talking to an older man, and two guys, maybe a little younger than me, sitting on the couch in conversation. Pete looks over to me and smiles and, as if instinct, I smile back. I walk over slowly and stand next to Pete.
"Dad," Pete began talking to his father. "I would like you to meet Patrick." He said.
"Hey, Patrick, I'm Peter." He said holding out his hand for me, which I took to shake.
"Patrick is, um, very special," Pete said. He has a weird way of wording things, let's be real. "He's, um, he's my mate."
Schools almost over! I'm so done with this shit I'm excited for it to be over. But, then again, this fall I'm starting high school! I'm so very excited to be the grade that all the other grades think don't deserve to live! Yay public school!
