"Shrapnel"

"We are reporting live from the Central bank of New Orleans right now where an armed robbery is in progress. Police are reporting five armed men inside heavily armored and outfitted for war with whoever would attempt to get in their way. The group is led by notorious criminal only known as "Trespass". Known for his brash and violent nature the police have quite a task at hand." Rupert Englive, local news correspondent, said as he listened closely from the scene to hear the questions coming in from the studio.

          As he prepared to answer an incoming question the front door to the bank blew open and smoke escaped into the streets as bystanders outside were blown back by the force of the blast. Smoke filtered into the air and a blue hue danced in the middle of it with sinister laughter cutting through it as Trespass could be seen in the middle of the cloud with electricity pulsing around him. He stepped out with a cigar in his mouth and duffle bags full of money on his back and a huge assault rifle hanging from his right arm. As bystanders scattered and some watched from what seemed to be a safe distance the smoke dissipated and you could see the other 4 men who'd been reported to have been with Trespass inside of the bank.

           Rupert took cover behind his nearby news van before reporting "There's been a huge explosion behind us and people are running for their lives. Some look injured, others in shock and more just look confused as police sirens are wailing and Trespass the merciless menace is laughing at us all."
As Rupert inched his neck around the truck to see, and his cameraman with him, one of the men standing behind Trespass suddenly flew backward and screamed in pain.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHH AHHHH AHHHH WHAT THE..." the downed criminal screamed bewildered. At the moment he was going to throw the expletive Trespass yelled at him "Get up you idiot and quit crying" he said before looking down at his lackey's leg and seeing that it was blown off and spurting blood everywhere. "WHAT THE...." Before Trespass could finish with his eyes open wide and searching the surrounding area for the culprit another one of the men fell to the ground with his foot bleeding immensely and splintered bone mixed with blood splashed across Trespass's pants. The onlookers shrieked in horror as Trespass looked confused as to what was actually happening.
He pushed in between the other 2 goons behind him and ran tearing down an alley close to the bank. As he did the goons fell and Alexis switched the munitions type on the gun to tracking and fired another nearly silent round that hit Trespass squarely in the back without him knowing it. Once the tracker started transmitting to her phone she smirked thinking to herself

"Still got it, this should work out well for the criminals in this city. Not so fast Trespass, we've got a matter to discuss."

        She flung the gun over her shoulder, grabbing her bag as well, and dashed toward the edge of the roof jumping off of it. She grabbed the grappling hook rope on the way down and landed on her motorcycle. She immediately hit the button to retract the grappling hook back to her and sped off after transferring the tracker on Trespass to her motorcycle's HUD. She sped between the onlookers, reporters, and upcoming police officers as Trespass was just about to hop in his getaway car. She cut him off in the alley where he'd stashed it screeching her bike to a stop and dropped her duffle bag in the alley. As she approached him he smiled at her though he couldn't tell if she was male or female through the outfit. She flipped her gun "Calamity" around to her right arm where she toted it ready to fire and smiled back at him behind her mask though he couldn't tell.
"You look lost, it's best you get out of here before I get more pissed than I already am" Trespass said to her as the electricity started to pulse through him and he began to laugh maniacally as he often did when excited. Alexis didn't stop her gaze at him nor stop walking toward him to confront him.
"You the one who blew my people's legs off? That's beat up! How are they supposed to steal other people's money now?" He said sarcastically. "How'd you do that anyway?" he asked half snarky and half sincerely interested.
"We've got something to discuss. None of what you said so far bears answering. Where is my sister?" Alexis said now standing still in the alley staring him down holding Calamity aimed for his throat.
"Oh you can talk? A lady huh? Why don't you take that helmet off and come on over here and let me see what you're workin wit mama? It's hard to see what you got with all that stuff you got on." Trespass said dismissing her question altogether as he stood inching his neck as if he was trying to look at her butt smiling smugly.
They were about 5 feet away from each other at this point and Alexis was still aiming Calamity at his neck. She cocked the gun and leaned her head to the side before asking again just as calmly as before.
"Where is my sister? This is the last time I'm asking" Trespass smiled still unwilling to give any thought to danger whatsoever regardless of what he'd seen just minutes before.
"Hold up lil lady don't you want to get to know me first?" He said licking his lips this time laughing as the electricity emanating from him increased and started to swell. Though his face was calm the current of rage building up in him showed as his body reacted with the electricity increasing by his rage. "What in hell makes you think I know where your sister is? I don't even know you. Why would I know your sister....You wastin my time. 5-0 out here lookin for me and you out here crying bout yo sister. Let me help you out" he said as he abruptly charged her as barbed wire started to come from his fist to punch her.
She moved quickly shifting her mode on the gun from tracking to subdue and fired hitting him square in the neck twice. The rounds in the subdue mode fired a beanbag type round with ghost pepper infused into the bags to burn in the wound left by them. Trespass gasped quickly grabbing his throat as his eyes bulged almost out of his head. The electricity around his body popped and the barbed wire retracted as he struggled to catch his breath. Alexis meanwhile rolled to being behind him and fired two more rounds into both of his legs. He fell to his knees still gasping as she walked around to stand in front of him and looked him face to face while asking
"You still don't know where she is? Jessica Young...where is she? I know you and your goons had something to do with it. Talk now or get your head blown off like your friend's legs earlier" she said through gritted teeth in a tone that let on there was no joking going on.
As he gasped yells could be heard from back behind him amidst the police sirens and ambulances pulling up to the scene they weren't that far from "Freeze!!!! NOPD put your hands where I can see them!!!!" officers yelled with their guns trained at Trespass and Alexis. Alexis knowing she had to go flipped the gun around and hit him in the face as he clawed at his neck trying to get the hurt and burning to stop basically peeling off his skin. He collapsed after the hit as she quickly said while running back to her motorcycle "The name's Shrapnel....I will see you again and you better have an answer next time".
She sped away back toward home smiling and placed the call to her dad once on the bike as the police focused on Trespass and arresting him.
"Hey pop, you need anything from the store I'm on the way back."
"No you alright, I hear sirens behind you maybe it's feedback from the TV. You see the news? Some bank robbery got stopped today, two dudes got their legs blown about clean off. Crazy thing is nobody heard anything it seemed almost like magic" he said laughing.
"No dad that's crazy nobody's legs can just get blown off silently" she said laughing "Must have been shrapnel from somewhere" she finished thinking There'll be plenty more limbs to go if I don't find out what I want to know.
