"No," Katsu snapped angrily, her arms crossed. "No way."
"We do not have much choice," Kakashi snapped back. "Tsunade will send more shinobi after us and we must lie low until then."
"Lie low?!" she asked incredulously in outrage. "Erika is going to meet with Orochimaru and you want me to lie low?!"
"Keep your voice down!" he hissed looking around. "It is a long journey anyway. We must throw any others off of our trail before they simply stop us. You know that if we're caught, no one can help Erika. Additionally, I am leading this mission and unless you want me putting an end to it right now, you'll do as I say."
Katsu would've said more but he had already begun walking away from her, pulling off his Jonin jacket to replace with a much less identifiable black one.
Katsu glared at his back, intending to burn holes into it, but unfortunately, that didn't work.
She had no choice but to follow suit, dawning a dark brown jacket as the two of them entered the small village. They were going to stay in a hotel until they were sure that their tracks could not be traced by other Leaf shinobi. The village was insignificant, but that's exactly what they needed.
As for the two of them, Katsu and Kakashi had been arguing about almost everything. The whole situation was stressing them both out immensely not to mention the additional tension of their past. The village was far off the route to Sound Village territory but Katsu somehow knew Kakashi was right.
Only, she would never tell him that. Her fear for Erika was making her harsh and stubborn but she didn't care. All she wanted was reassurance that her student was safe.Kakashi approached the only hotel in the village, his back rigid with frustration towards her though his voice was calm as ever as he spoke with a woman at the front counter.
"Good evening, may we have two rooms please?" he asked.
Katsu didn't stand around to listen to the conversation, moving to a rack of maps that stood nearby. Thinking it wise to take several, Katsu tucked them away in her bag.
"Come on then," Kakashi said after returning to her.
"Did you grab a key for me?" she asked, noticing he wasn't moving to hand her anything.
Kakashi shook his head, his arms crossed. "No. The woman has informed me that each room is very expensive each night. We don't have that money in our budget for this mission."
"This mission isn't even official! How do we even have a set budget? Are you saying we have to share a room?" She crossed her arms like his.
He stared her down. "Which question do you want me to answer first?" he asked. He held up a room card of which she snatched away. They made their way back in the direction of the counter, having to pass it in order to reach the stairs.
Not having heard their conversation, the woman behind the desk beamed. "You two enjoy your stay!" she said with a wink and giggle.
Katsu grit her teeth together. Of course, she thought they were together.
"Why, thank you," Kakashi answered, beating her to it. "I would hope so! It is our honeymoon after all."
"How exciting!" the woman said exuberantly. "In that case, why don't you two lovebirds take the honeymoon suite? Free of additional charge!"
"Yes, why don't we, honey?" Kakashi asked, enjoying his work far too much.
"I can't think of a reason why not," Katsu said, her smile forced. "Why can't I think of a reason why not?"
