"Done" I hold up my dress after at least 5 hours of work.

"That looks so cool, Marinette" Tikki compliments tiredly. I feel exhausted as well.

"Thanks, Tikki" I look down at her sleepily. "I'm exhausted" I put my dress on a mannequin and flop down on my bed.

"I bet you are" Tikki giggles "The dance is tomorrow" she points out.

"What?" I say shocked and sit up quickly.

"Yeah" she smiles. I groan as I flop down on my bed again. "What's wrong, Marinette? I thought you were excited about this."

"I am," I say "I'm just not ready."

"How come? You've got your shoes and your dress. What more do you need?"

"Confidence," I say pathetically.

"Oh, Marinette" Tikki flies over to me and sits on the pillow in front of my face "Remember what I said yesterday?"

"'You need to face your fears. It could be better than you think. You only get one chance'?"

"Exactly, you only get one chance" she smiles directly into my eyes.

"I suppose you're right," I say looking away from her.

"That's it" Tikki hugs my head "You should get some sleep. You've only got the whole day to gain confidence and then it's gonna be tonight" I nod.

"I'll get help from Alya" I yawn

"Good idea" she beams "Goodnight, Marinette."

"Goodnight, Tikki," I say tiredly as I close my eyes.

The Next Day...

I wake up feeling nervous. I see that Tikki is sleeping on my desk, and I decide to leave her to rest. I check the clock on my wall to see that it's only 9 in the morning. I jump out of bed, determined not to waste a minute. I get dressed and carefully put Tikki in my purse, careful not wake her. I rush downstairs and out the door. Not eating breakfast, again. I run to Alya's house and knock on the door.

"Hello," I say to Alya's mom "Is Alya in?"

"Yes, she is," she says politely "Come in" I obey her "She's just upstairs in her room."

"Ok, thank you" I smile at her. I rush up to Alya's room to find her in bed. "Alya"

"Oh my gosh" Alya wakes up in fright "A little warning next time you're coming over."

"Sorry," I help her out of bed and sit down next to her. "I need help."

"What with?" Alya rubs her eyes. I'm just about to say that I'm going with Adrien, but then I realise that I wanted to surprise her.

"I have a friend that can't gain confidence to go to the dance because she's going with the guy she likes" I lie "What would you tell her?"

"Well, I would tell her to get over her fears and just get into it," she says, pulling on a fresh pair of socks "I would also tell her not to be scared because you only get one chance" Why is everyone saying that?

"Ok," I smile and get off the bed "Thanks for your advice. I'll go tell her" I walk to the door.

"Marinette" Alya stop me

"Yeah?" I turn around to look at my best friend

"Was that girl you?" she asks like it's no big deal. I hang my head.

"Yeah," I say sadly and ashamed that I lied to my best friend.

"It's alright," Alya says cheerfully "I could tell because you are the only one who does that" she seemed to forget that I said: 'The guy she likes.'

"Really?" I cheer up a bit.

"Yeah" she smiles, "I think you should go and get ready" I nod and rush back home. I go up to my room and check on Tikki. She's still asleep. I start to worry, but I leave her for now.
