I won't say I'm in love

"I still can't believe that Principal Kaden will let us do a Halloween party slash 'get together'"

Me and my friends laugh as Dianne uses air quotation as she says get together with her two hands and fingers up.

"Yeah, me too. And there's drinks!" Dakota exclaims.

"There's drinks?" I ask in disbelief. "Principal Kaden agreed with that?"

Dakota looks at me with a funny face. "Of course not! But as expected, the boys will sneak in some." She winks at me.

I roll my eyes knowing the football players would be the one in charge of that. And if ever they get caught, they won't be punished because they honor our school letting us have a title and tons of trophies.

"Enough about P.K. who are your dates?" Lillian ask with a Flirty wink at us.

"Trevor"

"Paul"

"West"

They all said at the same time then looks at me simultaneously with an arch eyebrow.

"Ray" I said with a shrug and took a sip out of my lemonade.

We're at dunkin' donuts after a Thursday class.

Tomorrow is Halloween and it was a last minute decision that our principal decided that there will be a 'Halloween get together' or what we like to call party instead.

So we're here, talking about it and later on we'll go to the mall to buy costumes, well, their going to buy new costumes.

I decided I'll just be cat woman since I have an all black clothes and a black cat ears. Besides, I'm too lazy to go to the mall and fight other buyers for a costume.

"Are you together now? It's been so long!" Lillian sighs heavily but with a teasing smile like the other 2.

I scowl at them. "No, we are not together and we will never be together!" I said for the gazillion times.

"Oh please Briana, you're totally into him and so does he." Dakota rolls her eyes as this plays out again.

"He keeps making the moves on you but you insist that you're friends even though it's obvious that you're in love with him." Dianne stuck her tongue out to me.

I glare at them while taking a sip out of my drink again. It's easier this way, I won't be defending myself and they'll stop their torture. I know that they won't back down on this topic.

I'm not in love with Raymond. He's just a son of my mother's best friend. That's why we're close.

"Oh my gosh just snap out of it already!" Dakota exclaimes looking somewhat pissed at me.

"She'll get it someday Da, no need to stress yourself." Dianne attempts to calm her down and Dakota nods in response.

"We better get going if we want to have a hot costume girls." Lillian informs as she looks at her watch.

Dianne looks at me. "You sure you don't wanna come?" She asks me for the seventh time today.

I place my hand on my forehead. "Yes!" I put my hand up. "Now run along you dweebs!"

They playfully glare at me as they all stand up and leaving.

Dakota was last to go out then turned to me.

"Bri, there's nothing wrong with being in love, remember that." She told me with a sigh then went off to catch up with the others.

I finish my donuts silently as I over think.
