Maya: My Chicago Journal

Day 16

I wake up and Mari is already up. I also smell something baking. I go downstairs to see what she's doing.

"Morning Maya!" Mari says in a cheerful voice

"Morning. Whatcha making?" I ask her

"Crosaunts! They're my mom's recipe, they are so good!" She replies

I tried one when they came out of the oven. Mari's right, they're really good! After breakfast I decide to play a video game with her.

We played for 3 whole hours until I get a text. I check my phone.  I get up and go to Mari's desk. The text is from Lucas.

L- why aren't u here with me. I need u

WHAT THE CRAP!? Why would he text me this!? This is stupid, HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND!

I decide not to reply to his text. Things would get even worse. What I need to do is tell Riley about Lucas cheating on her. What I don't wanna do is text her some big news again.

I get up out of my seat and go to Mari.

"What happened?" Marinette asks

"Oh nothing. Just a text from the guy that is cheating on his girlfriend to be with me. He wants me but I don't want him." I reply

" Wow." She says

"Yeah." I say

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Mari asks

"No thanks." I reply

"Ok."

All of a sudden I get a text from Riles.

R- Hey I got ur plane ticket. U leave tomorrow and I'll pick you up at the airport
M- kk c u tomorrow

Yay! I get to go home tomorrow! But that means I leave paris and Mari. I have to tell her I'm leaving tomorrow. She'll be crushed I bet but there's nothing I can do.

"Hey Mari, I have something to tell you." I say

"What is it?" She answers eagerly

"My friend got me a plane ticket to go back to Chicago. This is my last day in Paris." I say to her

"Ok, we'll miss you very much." She replies as I see her expression drop

"I'm sorry Mari." I say as I hug her. She starts to cry

"It's ok. I know you'll come back" she wipes her eyes

"Yeah maybe." I reply

We decide to go to the park near her house. Adrien comes and I tell him. He gives me a hug and gives me his phone number so we can stay in touch. We talk for a while then have dinner at this cool café.

I said goodbye to Adrien, then me and Mari went back to her place. We watched a movie then went to bed.

Man I'm blessed to have made such good friends like Marinette and Adrien here in Paris.
