RECAP:

I slam open the door and my eyes are scarred by the image I see. “MARK!” I scream. “WE ARE OVER! GET OUT!” They both scramble to get their clothes and the girl flees the room. “Baby, let me explain.” Mark says trying to reason with me. “NO! OUT!” I yell at his face. He quickly throws his clothes back on and looks at me one last time. “Baby-“ “OUT.” I say glaring at him.

He leaves without any questions and I am so relieved to finally have him out of my life. I look at the bed in disgust and decide that I’ll just sleep on the couch tonight. I lay down and am quickly covered with sleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I awake with a weight lifted off of my shoulders. I don’t know what that weight was but I’m glad it’s gone. I walk into my room and rip off the sheets. I ball them up and put them in the corner. Then I go and get cleaning supplies. I totally drown my mattress in disinfectant…I did not want to get any nasty diseases from that skinny blonde bitch.

Once I feel like the whole mattress is soaked, I turn around and pick up the sheets. I walk into the kitchen and open the windows next to the sink. I put thee sheets in the sink and walk to the refrigerator. I pull out a bottle of vodka and place it down by the sink. I open one of my many cabinets and grab my box of matches.

I open the vodka and take a long sip before I start anything. The harsh liquor burns down my throat. I start to slowly pour it over the sheets. I leave just over half of the bottle. I reach over and grab my box of matches before a thought pops into my head.

I put the matches and bottle of vodka back on the counter as a smile begins to play on my lips. I rush around my apartment collecting everything. When I come back into the kitchen I have 37 pictures, 5 pairs of shorts, 4 t-shirts, 2 leather bracelets, a pair of socks, and a toothbrush.

I smile wickedly as I drop everything into the sink except for 2 pictures, dousing it all in vodka. I have just a little bit of vodka left and I reach over to grab the matches. I pull out a match and strike it against the box. The flam jumps to life on top of the small stick of wood. I drop it into the sink with the alcohol covered items start to burn.

I strike another match and drop it in, and another, and another. The entire sink is ablaze and I pick up one of the pictures. It’s of me and Mark at the beach on one of our first dates. The wind is blowing and my hair is all over the place. I’m not really smiling. In fact I don’t look happy at all and I realize that I was never happy with him. Ever. I chuckle quietly and strike another match, bringing it up to the bottom corner. The flame jumps onto the picture and slowly starts to burn. I watch as our faces disappear and I drop the picture into the sink with everything else. I quietly start to sing to myself.

I hate that stupid old pickup truck

You never let me drive

You're a redneck heartbreak

Who's really bad at lying

So watch me strike a match

On all my wasted time

As far as I'm concerned you're

Just another picture to burn!

There's no time for tears,

I'm just sitting here planning my revenge

There's nothing stopping me

From going out with all of your best friends

And if you come around saying sorry to me

My daddy's gonna show you how sorry you'll be

And if you're missing me,

You'd better keep it to yourself

'Cause coming back around here

Would be bad for your health...

'Cause I hate that stupid old pickup truck

You never let me drive

You're a redneck heartbreak

Who's really bad at lying

So watch me strike a match

On all my wasted time

In case you haven't heard,

I really really hate that...

Burn, burn, burn, baby, burn

You're just another picture to burn

Smoke is pouring out the window and slowly filling the kitchen. It almost looks like one of those dramatic scenes in the movies. I chuckle quietly to myself and pick up the other picture, smiling a little. It’s Mark and I at the fair just about three weeks ago. We’re both wearing stupid outfits. I’m in the middle of laughing and he’s just looking at me with a big smile on his face.

I decide that I actually like this picture. I turn around and put it in one of my hidden cabinets. I like it but I don’t want it out anywhere. I walk back over to the sink and see a lot of ashes and the fire dying down slowly. I turn on the faucet and watch the last of the fire go out. I wash the ashes down the drain and go to change my outfit.

I quickly grab my keys and hop into my car. I can’t wait to see Niall. We’re about to go on our first date. I’m actually really nervous. I reach his apartment building and jump out of my car. I start walking up to his apartment with a bright smile on my face, nervously excited about what today will hold.
