Home away from home.

Your Pov

"(Y/n)! Come on! Let's go!" My mom yelled from down stairs. I made sure I had everything was packed for the summer. I heard my mom honk her horn and I laughed. I walked outside "Finally! You are such a girl." My mother groaned, "I'm making sure we having everything, taking as you always forget stuff whenever we go anywhere." I said putting my bags in the trunk. I sat in the passengers seat buckling my seat belt. "Such as this," I said handing her purse to her. She blushed in embarrassment, "Yes well... Off we go!" She cheered and we drove off. I smiled and looked at the place I call home. Some kids were playing in the park and some teens I knew were walking and talking. I looked forward "How long until we get to Beach City?" I asked. "Mm about four hours give or take." She shrugged, "Let's just hope we don't get lost." I mumbled and closed my eyes to sleep for a few hours.

"(Y/n)! We're here." The sound of my mothers whining awoke me. My eyes fluttered open and I looked around "Whoa." I smiled brightly. "The big donut?" I asked confused as we past a shop with a donut on top. My mother shrugged, "Hopefully better than small apple." My mother chuckled "I hope!" I yelled, I shivered in disgust remembering the shop we had back home. We pulled into a driveway "Well. This is it." I took in the house, "Why do they have a tarp covering the garage entrance?" I asked pointing at it. "Its best not to question your aunts methods and reasons." My mom whispered to me before exiting the car. I laughed and exited as well. "Go knock will ya?" My mother ordered taking out our luggage. I went up and knocked, it was opened by my aunt "Whoa. Hey! (Y/n) I haven't seen you since you were yey big" she modeled motioning to her knees. "And I haven't seen you since your wacky hair due" I giggled. She laughed, "A little help here?" My mother cried for help. We looked at each other "Nah!" We entered the house laughing, "So how have you been?" She asked "Good. Thanks, School's finally over for the summer." I sighed "Oh yeah, your mom mentioned that, you must be excited" she mentioned me to follow her to the kitchen. "Oh yeah, no more quizzes, exams, studying, homework, for three whole months" I grinned. "I remember feeling that way once," she had a long far away look in her eye. I smiled sadly, being a kid probably wasn't easy for her. "So, I better hide before my mom tars me to shreds. Where is this little cousin I heard about?" I asked looking around. "Oh Onion, yeah he's always outside getting into trouble. So is Sour cream, though he hangs out in Fish Stu's Pizza, I think that's what its called. Go look there, you're probably his favorite cousin." She chuckled, I smiled and hugged her. "I really missed you" I said before pulling away. "Me too kiddo." She smiled "Now scram!" She shooed me away. I walked around town trying to get familiar with it. I was introduced to a pier, the I found the pizza place Aunt V was talking about. I entered inside and was greeted by a girl about a year older than me. "Hey! Can I help you?" She smiled "Uh yeahh I'll have..." I looked at their menu "You're menu just consists of fish and pizza huh?" I chuckled. "Well there isn't many options when you live near a pier." She laughed with me "My names (Y/n) I'm living here with my Aunt for the summer." I introduced "I'm Kiki. No wonder you didn't seem familiar." She joked "Mhm." I giggled. "Hey, actually! I'm looking for my cousin, my Aunt said I could find him hanging around here?" I looked around the small place "If so then he's friends with my sister Jennie, and there is no way they'd be here until later." Kiki rolled her eyes sounding annoyed. "Thanks Kiki, I'm going to look around some more, I'll see you later," I smiled "Bye (Y/n)!" She waved as I walked out.

I entered 'The Big Donut' and looked around. "Welcome to the Big Donut" a girl with blonde hair stood behind the counter with a guy listening to music next to her. "Hi. I'll just have a regular donut." I smiled stuffing hands into the pockets of my jacket. The guy opened an eye and looked at me, I smiled at him and grabbed my bag "Thanks, uh how much?" I asked digging around for change "That will be 2.75 please" the girl smiled. "Here, by the way I love your hair." I giggled as she blushed at my complement "O-Oh. Thank you, I like yours too!" I smiled "Thank you. I'm (Y/n)" I greeted "I'm Sadie, and this doofus over here is Lars." She rolled her eyes at the guy next to her. "Lars? Interesting name, its cool. I like it" he blushed and I winked "Well. I got to go. Thank you" I waved at them and walked out. I sat on a bench and ate my donut "Mm~ this is better than small Apple!" I exclaimed. The sun was setting as I finished my donut. Mm I should go. I was looking forward to hanging out with Sour cream. Maybe tomorrow I sighed and stood up.

I saw a fry shop as I walked back home. There stood at the window was a little boy, probably the same age as me. I walked up to the window and looked at the menu, "Does this place have only themed food shops? There isn't one place I've seen that varies" I smiled "That's Beach City for you." I looked at him and he blushed a little "Do you work here?" I asked "My Dad owns this place and I help, along with my brother Renaldo but, I get the bigger pay check in the end" he whispered the last part. I giggled "I can see why. I'm (Y/n)" "I'm Pete" he smiled showing off his gapped teeth. I squealed pinching his cheek "You are too cute. Bye Pete" I laughed and walked away leaving a blushing mess named Pete.

I walked into the house to hear my mom and Aunt laughing in the kitchen. I walked in to see them drinking tea, "I'm back." I announced "Oh hey Kiddo. Any luck?" Aunt Vidalia asked "No. But I did meet lots of cool people." I said sitting next to mom, "Aw. You finally made friends?" Mt mom asked "Mom" I sighed and shook my head. "Anyway, I'm pretty tired, where am I sleeping if I may?" I asked, brushing my hair out of my face. "Oh. Uh. You can sleep in Sour Creams room. He won't mind..... I hope" she mumbled the last part. "I'll just wait until he gets home so I don't scare him." I giggled and went upstairs to take a shower in their restroom.

3rd POV

The two sisters laughed and talked, "So has yellow tail been treating my big sis right?" Janice asked. "Yeah. I never thought I would marry a fishermen." She chuckled. "So, have you told (Y/n) yet?" Janice looked down sadly "No, how could I tell her, I'm the only family she's ever had. How do I tell her..." She sighed and wiped away a stray tear away. The door opened and entered Onion, "Oh hey there bud. Where have you been?" Vidalia asked her son. He spoke in a weird language she was able to understand. "Oh. Well have you seen your brother?" Onion nodded and soon the door opened. Sour cream entered the kitchen listening to music "Sour cream!" His mother called out to him. He unplugged his headphones "Yeah?" He asked "Say hi to your Aunt Janice" Janice got up and squealed "Oh my, I haven't seen you since you were seven!" She hugged him tightly. He struggled to breath but hugged back, once Janice pulled away "Oh (Y/n) is going to be so happy to see you" Janice laughed. "(Y/n)? She's here?!" Sour Cream perked in interest hearing about his little cousin. "Yeah. She's taking a shower, oh. She's bunking with you. That's OK right?" His mom smiled "Mm" Sour nodded and headed to his room.

Your POV
I walked out of the bathroom drying my hair with a towel. I entered Sour Creams room. I looked up to see Sour Cream listening to music. Wow, I almost didn't recognize him, he changed. I walked up to him and tapped his forehead. He looked up, at me, his small frown turned into a small smile. I smiled back and hugged him, feeling his arms wrap around me, I felt at home.
