Hanging with the cool kids

Your Pov

"And the small Apple has really gross ice cream. If I was an ice cream I would be offended." I said. Sour Cream and I were walking to the pizza place. Sour cream chuckled "Seems like Salt lake city isn't so amazing as everyone thinks it is." I smiled "No, but the shops aren't why you fall in love with it. For me, it's the parks. The nature there is just so beautiful, mom and I go every Sunday and have picnics just enjoying the view and sounds." I smiled noticing the pretty sun rise "But looking at how amazing this place, makes me feel like this is what home feels like." I looked up at Sour cream and beamed "So. What fun things are we going to do today?" I asked. "Mm. Depends on Jennie, she's the one that drives us where we need to go." He shrugged. I nodded, "Hey Soury? Do you know a boy named Steven?" I asked. "Yeah, he's a pretty cool dude. Why?" He asked ruffling my hair. I giggled smacking his hand away "It took a long time to get my hair like this don't mess it up!" I moved some hair away from my face. "It's just that. Kiki and Jennie said I remind them of him, that I look like him too." I said looking at him. "What's he like?" I asked "Well. He has an Afro. He's pretty short considering he's 14 and his dad is pretty tall." He described and shrugged "He lives in a temple at the other side of the cliff with the Crystal Gems." I cocked my head in confusion "Crystal Gems? And he has a dad? Who are these Gems and why does he live with them?" I asked wanting to know more. They didn't have these 'Crystal Gems' back at home. "Well. They're these people with Gems on them, there are three. Well four since Steven also has a gem." I blinked "Gem? Like the things you find deep below planet Earth?" I asked sceptical. Powers? Gems? On their bodies? Those things aren't real. I was starting to believe my cousin was just making this up. "Yeah. They protect beach city, well, the world actually. But most stuff happens here." I opened my mouth to ask a question when I realized we were standing in front of the pizza place. When we entered, a young man with a white T-shirt, sunglasses, and red jacket was sitting at a table. "Hey Buck," Sour Cream spoke walking towards him. I followed and smiled at him "Who's this?" He asked "This is my little cousin (Y/n)," Sour cream introduced me while ruffling my hair. "(Y/n) this is Buck Dewy. The Mayors son." I held out my hand and he gripped it shaking "Nice to meet you." He smiled. "You too. I like your sunglasses." I smiled brightly as I out my hand away. "Oh Thank you-" "Alright let's get this show on the road!" Jenny sighed walking in "Great you guys are here." She smiled "Yup. Where are we going?" I asked "We are taking you on an official tour of beach city!" Jenny cheered "Alright! Let's go!" I beamed with excitement. "Whoa. Hold on, we're eating food first." Sour Cream said placing his hand on my shoulder "Aww bummer." I pouted poking his stomach.

"Here you go guys." Kiki sighed tiredly as she placed our pizza on the table. "Thanks Kiki! You're the greatest." I smiled up at her. "Aw thank you (Y/n)" she smiled and went back to the kitchen. I waited until the three older ones grabbed their slices before grabbing mine. I took a bite and hummed in enjoyment,"This is so good," I said mouth full of pizza. "(Y/n) use your manners." Sour cream scolded me. I looked down secretly glaring at him, "Wow Sour cream. I've never seen this side of you." Jenny laughed. Sour cream blushed looking down at his pizza. "Oh yeah well......" He leaned over whispering something to Jenny. "What really?" She asked surprised then whispered it to Buck. "What?" I asked raising an eyebrow at them. "Oh nothing its just something embarrassing that I'll tell you later." Sour cream shrugged. I was now more confused and curious as ever. I finished my pizza then shot up "Alright let's gooo!!" I cheered placing a five dollar tip on the table and rushing out side.

3rd POV

Sour cream sighed but smiled at his little cousin as she excitedly left the pizzeria. "She really is like Steven huh?" Buck smiled "Yeah. Let's set them up!" Jenny smiled "What? No. My cousin isn't ready to date someone." Sour cream objected "Come on Sour Cream. They're perfect for each other." Jenny whined "Right Buck?" Buck looked out at (Y/n). She waited happily on the curb with a big smile towards the risen sun. She was pure innocence, you felt a motive to keep her safe. "I agree with Sour Cream. Plus, she's her own person, she should date who she wants." He said turning his head to Jenny. She pouted at her loss and looked out at (Y/n), she smiled and stood up "Tell Dad I'll be back later." She called out to her sister. Kiki nodded and waved goodbye at her twin. "Ok guys, let's go." The three headed out the store to meet (Y/n). Kiki sighed and looked over at the table they sat at. Something caught her eye, she went over and found the five dollars (Y/n) had left. She smiled grabbing the bill and tucked it away in her pocket while she cleaned up the table.

Your POV
"Cool car Jenny!" I smiled sitting in the back with Buck "Thanks (Y/n) it's just the delivery car. Smells like pizza." Jenny sighed. I buckled my seat belt smiling excitedly, as the three older ones did the same. "Alright, beach city here we come!" Jenny cheered "But we're already in beach city." I said confused. "Yeah, I know. But I'm just trying to get pumped up ya know?" Jenny giggled. "Oh. Oh! Ok! Beach city here we come!!" I yelled throwing my hands up. "You are a crazy girl (Y/n)!" Jenny laughed. We started driving and I smiled feeling the wind blow through my hair. The radio volume was turned up, a popular song came on and I was just so happy. I felt like I actually belonged, like this was my home.

~some time later~

3rd POV
The three oldest teens showed (Y/n) around. They each had fun. They went to the arcade and Sour Cream showed some cheats to some of the games he knew to (Y/n). They went to a store and Jenny showed (Y/n) clothes that didn't really interest the guys, but when (Y/n) tried something on they encouraged her. They went past the mayor and Buck wasn't very pleased. (Y/n) placed a hand on his shoulder with a small smile. She explained how she didn't have a dad her life, and that even with one parents, there's a lot of love from them, whether they show it or not. That made Buck feel better on the inside, though he chose not to show it. Now it was late evening and (Y/n) was passed out resting her head on Bucks shoulder. He didn't mind much, he tried with all his might to hide his smile. Jemmy yawned "I still can't believe (Y/n) doesn't have any friends, she's so much fun to be around." She smiled looking at her through the rear view mirror. "I just wish she'll forgive us." Sour cream sighed looking out the side "I'm sure she will Sour cream. She has a big heart and cares about everything and everyone." Jenny gave her friend a sad smile. The soon reached Sour creams home, he got out and carried (Y/n) to his room. Such a fun day, with his favorite best friend.
