"Wait, what?" Haha, I don't think I heard him right. "Wanna stay with me in my apartment?" Huh. Maybe I did. "I mean, it's only one bedroom but it's pretty big. I just figured if you didn't wanna be alone when you're going through such a hard time, you might wanna come up and stay with me. I mean, we're still best friends. I haven't seen you in a while; okay, maybe a long while, but you're my right hand man. You've been there with me through everything, so.." He kept going on and on, and I kinda started to tune him out. He still really thought I was a guy?
I mean, I tried to tell everyone in elementary school I was a girl, but no one ever listened. In sixth grade, I tried to change out into my gym clothes in the girl's locker room and they practically pushed me out the door and told me to go to the guy's room. I ended up changing in the bathroom the next couple of years.
Even my mom called me her boy every once in awhile. Actually, she did that a lot. Jokingly and seriously. In high school, I got asked out quite a lot by girls. And almost all my friends were guys.. I did wear guy's boxers and socks.. But they're really comfy! Heh, man, I guess I pretty much was a guy. Besides the whole period thing. That sucked.
".. So anyways, it'd be awesome if you came up. I got hired filming on the set of this new movie, and the director needs an assistant. You can get a job, and we can pretty much work together! It'll be great! So, what do ya say?" "Hmm.." Well, I don't have a job here, and I hate staying in this house alone.. "Can I bring my dog?" I asked, waiting for the answer that would decide whether or not I'd go. "..What kind of dog is it?" He asked hesitantly, and I could tell we wasn't to keen on the idea. "Here, one sec." I hung up, and started searching for Hailey. "May? Where'd you go sweetie girl?" I cooed, searching for her. I went from upstairs in my room to downstairs, through the kitchen, and then into the living room.
"Where'd you go maisers?" Looking over at the couch, I finally found her. "Hailey! Stay right there!" Not that she would move though, dog barely gets up to poop. "And.. Got it." Snapping the pic, I quickly texted it to Josh. 'She's really sweet, and she rarely barks, and when she does it's not pitched! She's an angel, and potty trained! She barely moves, she won't be any trouble,' I texted him, trying to get him to let my dog go. It would be great to stay with Josh, but I wouldn't leave my angel to go live with him. I'd have to pretend I was a guy, too. Not like it was hard, but I liked knowing I could take off my bra and not have any problems being a couch potato, and I wouldn't be able to do that with Josh around. I don't have anything he'd notice, but still..
My phone went off, distracting me from my thoughts. 'Absolutely! I thought it was going to be a big dog. She's nothing! My apartment would totally let her stay.' Reading Josh's text made me smile a little to myself. It was kinda nice knowing I had a shoulder to lean on. 'Well then, next time u see that director, tell him he's got his guy, cause I'm comin to NY!'
Guess there's no turning back now; I've already pressed send.
