Josh was my good ol' friend since elementary and throughout high school. I mean, sure, he thought I was a guy but I didn't really care. Josh was my good bud, and we always hung out. Actually, I think his parents thought I was a guy too. I guess it never got brought up. Heh, they probably wouldn't of let me sleep over then.. His parents were really strict with him and girls.
Answering the call, I put the phone up to my ear. "Hey Josh, what's up?" We hadn't talked for months, so it was nice to hear his voice again.
Turns out, someone posted my mom's death to Facebook and Josh had seen.
"Oh.. You saw that?" I asked, turning a little red. "Yeah.. Are you okay?"
Hearing him say that, all the pent up emotions I'd been trying to ignore came out all at once, and the next thing I knew tears were streaming down my face. After a couple of seconds, he realized what was going on and started freaking out.
"Oh.. Wait, are you crying! Are you okay?!" Man, this guy always made me feel better without even trying. I laughed a little through shaky breaths. Smiling a little, I responded. "Thanks for that." My grin turned to a full out smile as he asked another dozen confused questions.
Dang, I bounce back quick.
"Anyways, you moved out of your apartment, right?"
"Yeah, the lease was up so I figured might as well go stay with dad, but he's in jail now." I said, wiping the tears on my jeans. "Right. So I was wondering, wanna come up to New York and stay with me?"

So yeah, these are my first chapters. They'll get longer as I go :) But what'd you think so far? Was it okay? Let me know what you think, if you wanna~
