Chapter 3

Sophia's POV

      I hurriedly went out of Joey's office the moment she handed me the documents. She called me "Phi", nobody had ever called me that way again. The way she pronounced it sent chills to my body and a familiar sensation I can never forget. I never imagined that I would once feel that sensation again the same way I felt it before after what had happened years ago. That simple endearment bring joy and tears to me. Hearing it tore me apart. It all came back to me.

"I loved you, Phi. I fought hard for this relationship. I never thought that you would do this to me." 

"I am so sorry, J. I am really sorry." I plead.

A knock from my car window distracted me from my thoughts, seeing Joey  standing outside my car made me feel relieved at the same time a bit afraid.

      "Are you okay?" I saw her mouthed. I stared at her for a while and decided to roll the window down a bit.

       "Yeah. Why shouldn't I? I lied withdrawing my stare from her to the rearview mirror to check my eyes.

      "You seemed tired. It is better if you go home now and take some rest." She advised. I saw Nathan walking towards our way when Joey talked once again.

"Can you handle it? I can drive you if you want." She offered. I didn't know what to say. I both want it and don't want it.

"I... I.. Ah"  Nathan came to view and cut me. "I guess, I'll drive her home." Nathan said to Joey.

"Here comes the boyfriend wonder so I shall be going now. Have a great night." Nothing registered on her face but a blank expression while exchanging looks from me to Nathan.

I nodded as a response and wave her a good bye. She walked away from us without looking back. I was waiting for her to look back but she did not. What was I thinking that she will turn her head back to check on me? I must admit that I am a little sad that she did not turn her head back even once while here I am staring at her back waiting for her to reach her car safely.

Nathan acts like taking the wheel from me but I resist. I don't want to talk to anybody. I felt the need to be alone and have some time with myself so I could figure things out. Once I reached my condo unit, I automatically dropped my back on the couch staring blankly on the ceiling.

         "Pia? Are you there, sweetie?" I heard my nanny called from the kitchen. I stood up and went straight to her.

       "How are you, nanny?" I hugged her from the back like what I always do when I'm sad.

      "Oh sweetie. What happened? Are there any bad guys again? Show them to me and I'll kill them with my bolo." She asked and joked as the same time. She really knows how to treat me. She never failed to put a smile on my lips.

     "No need, nana. I already feel better now, thanks to my super nanny." I lied while still hugging her.

       "I'll take a shower first." I smiled and went straight to my room, grabbed my towel and headed to the bathroom. I bet a rose and milk bath will made me feel better.

While inside the bathroom, I heard my phone rang. I reached for my towel and left the bathroom to check my phone. It was Nathan. I don't feel like talking to him so I ignored the call, besides I know why he was calling. He's gonna check out on me like a child. I went back to the bathroom and finished bathing. Afterwards, I turned on my television while I look for something to wear. I decided to wear a pair of purple pajamas. I was combing my hair  and watching news when Nanny Rita called me for dinner.
