Joey's POV
I woke up with a terrible headache this morning. I slowly got up without opening my eyes and sat pulling the blanket to my shoulders to cover my body because of so much coldness. My eyes are also achy, maybe I am having a migraine again. I rested my head on the headboard and chill for a while.
When did my room become this cold? I thought while massaging my temples with my right hand. I slowly opened my eyes because it's too hard to adjust when exposed to so much sunlight.
"Aaaaahhhhh!!" I screamed to the top of my lungs when I saw a purple covered bed and white pillows. I realized it wasn't my room at all so I searched my phone but it's dead. I started to freak out. I decided to ran after the door but my head won't cooperate. It hurts even worst when I attempted to stood up that caused me to stay where I am seated. I pressed both of my hands on my temples and tried to stood up gently. I was able to stood up and walked towards the door. I peeked out to see if there's somebody outside the door. I exited the room quietly like a burglar afraid that somebody might caught me. I am about to reach for the main door when I saw another opened room. My attention where caught by a painting of a lady on a large canvass. It is weird because I felt attached to the painting already.
The painting screams so much emotions. Only gray and black oil paints were used to make the unfinished artwork. I wondered why it wasn't done yet. The lady in the painting looks so much familiar to me that I went in to take a closer look on it. It was a painting of a lady standing on a seawall as if thinking of going somewhere. She looks lonely and unhappy. I felt something painful inside me. I feel the painting with the tip of my fingers and stared at it for a while.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" I heard a lady talked behind me. I assumed she just entered the room. I turned and looked at her. "What are you doing here?" I asked puzzled.
"I should be the one asking you that. I left you in my room and here you are roaming in my unit." She answered back with her arms crossed in front of her chest. "How did I get here?" I asked in irritation.
"Obviously, I took you home. You see, I can't leave you passed out outside the bar." Sophia explained. The last thing I remember was grabbing her cigarette and walking back inside the bar. I did not remember myself passing out. I tried to remember everything after the incident but nothing came in. I felt another pain on my head that made me lose balance for a while.
"Fuck, Joey. Are you alright?" Sophia quickly ran after me before I end up on the floor. She guided me to the couch and let me sit.
"I'm good. I have to go." I insisted but she did not let me. "Stay!" She screamed at me like a mother. "Look joey! I know you are trying to avoid me but this is not the good time to be hard headed and keep on insisting that you can when in fact you're not feeling good at all!" She stood in front of me with her hands at her waist. I looked directly at her and wondered.
"How did I get here?" I asked once again. "As I've said, I can't let you sleep on the street. You were so drunk last night that you almost fell on the floor. Thank goodness a certain guy caught you even before you fall completely on the ground." She answered while she walks to kitchen. She came back with a glass filled with iced cold water.
"I do not know where you stay. Your phone were dead. Roma and the others except for Nathan and Avery were unreachable last night. They don't even know where you live so I decided to take you here." She added handing me the glass.
"You should have taken me to a hotel not your house, Sophia." I answered angrily. "Whoa. I took you here for safety. I cared for you and yet you still act like I am a virus getting into your nerves?!" She responded disappointed with my statement. "Maybe I should have let you slept on the pub." She added. "Take this." She handed me a medicine. She's so nice. Still trying to help me even when I am giving her are cold shoulders.
