Child of Hades

The Winter Solstice

  (Shadow's P.O.V)
  Today was the winter solstice and it is the day that I would become the guardian of the hunters. I made way for the empire state building and when I got to the lobby I looked at the guy behind the desk. I said, ''Can I have the key for the six hundredth floor please.''

''Sorry kid so such thing as the six hundredth floor.''

''Oh I'm sorry, but I'm here for the winter solstice meeting.''

''Oh a demigod. Well I'm sorry, but no you can't go no ones allowed to go up there except for one Artemis said his name is Shadow.''

''That would be me.  So why don't you just hand me the card already.''

''On one condition if we battle.''

''Of course you'd say that. Well lets get this started.'' I said.
   We pulled out a double bladed sword and stepped out. I pulled out my swords and charged. I had my blade underneath his his and his sword was underneath mine. He pulled his sword apart and tried to get me with the blade, but I deflected with my blade. We exchanged blows for a few minutes. I got sick of it so I made his blades fly out of his hands. I said, ''We finished here or what?''

''Far from it.'' He pulled out a war hammer, and started charging this way. I blocked his blows with the blades of my swords, and countered some of his strikes. I got tired of it and slashed the hilt of his hammer making the actual hammer part fall to the ground.
  He handed me the card and I walked to the elevator. I got inside and put the key in and the six hundredth floor button appeared. I pushed it and went up.
   Once I got to Olympus I walked through the streets straight up to the domed palace and entered to my father and Zeus bickering. All the gods looked at me, and I gave a thumbs up to Artemis. She looked at me with a strange look that I didn't understand. I just waited for the bickering to stop, and once Zeus saw me he said, ''Ha, so the son of Hades came at last.''

''This is the one I was talking to you about Father. I wouldn't like him as a guardian but still we could use someone like him.''

''Yes I can see that Artemis, but is he really guardian material.''

''Lord Zeus if I may let me show you by challenging two of you gods.'' I said interrupting them.

''Who do you chose.''

''Athena and Ares.''

''Goddess of wisdom and god of war vs a half-blood. You might as well sign your death warrant boy.'' Said Zeus.
  Athena and Ares came forward and got their weapons out. I pulled out my swords and waited for one of them to attack. I looked at Ares and he charged. I blocked his sword with the blade of mine and kicked him in the chest sending him back into a wall. I put one of my swords up keeping out the other one waiting for Athena to attack. Before she had time to move my blade was pointed her chin. She kicked the ground and went into the air grabbing a sword. That's when the fight began, and I saw her movements before she made them.  I got tired it so I disappeared and tripped her. I reappeared by grabbing her arm making sure she didn't fall.
  Soon Zeus was looking at me and said, ''How did you beat the goddess of wisdom?''

''You see father what I was talking about. He beheaded the Minotaur without even looking behind him, and he faced three Griffins. (Doesn't matter how it's spelled Gryphon.)'' Artemis said.

''If I do make you the guardian of the hunters you promise on the River Styx to protect them and Artemis.''

''I swear on Chaos's name to protect them.'' The room got darker and someone appeared before us. I bowed knowing my place. He looked at me and a shadow appeared and wrapped himself around me.
  Soon it disappeared and I had black clothing on along with every weapon I made in the forges when I grew up with the demons and him. The crescent blade I made a few weeks ago was strapped on my back along with a silver version for killing werewolves if needed.
   Soon almost every god and goddess gave me their blessing to protect the hunt and Artemis. After that was finished the gods left leaving Artemis and I alone. I got the silver version of the crescent blade out and gave it to her. She said, ''Why are you giving me this?''
