I am tougher now. I never cry. I can't cry. Once it is morning, I pack up some supplies and start to walk again. I end up in Atlanta before dark. I gather up some more supplies and eat and drink water before leaving again the next day. After weeks on end, I end up at a prison. I walk to the fence and see a man who is walking from what looks like a garden I start banging on the fence.

"Help me please," I cry out as walkers start towards me. The man looks at me and points to a gate as he runs towards it and I run towards it, it opens and I run in. He raises his gun at me.

"What's your name? and you have to answer three questions before you go any further." He spits at me as I watch him.

"Iyana," I say.

"The three questions are, Do you have a weapon? How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed?" He asks me.

"I have a gun and knife. Too many to count counting one that I had loved. One, she was my best friend but she was getting attacked by walkers, they were all biting her and there was no way she could get away." I say quietly. Studying the man in front of me, I soon slip a question. "Are you..are you Rick Grimes?" I ask the man, who looks like my birth father. He nods his head studying me. "I'm your daughter. Your ex-girlfriend JackLynn Johnson's daughter she had me at 16." He studies me before I hand him a picture of the two of them. He pulls me into a hug.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't there for you Iyana," he says then speaks again; "Come on, you can meet the group and my wife and your half-brother," he says with his arm around my waist as we walk into the prison where their "room"-cells are. "Guys come out here" four women, one was pregnant; four men and a young boy come out of the cells. They all look at me. "Guys this is Iyana, she's my daughter." The pregnant woman smiles and walks towards me and Rick...Dad. She smiles at me and holds her hand out. The young boy joins her at her side.

"I'm Lori, Rick's wife, and this is Carl." I shake her hand then Dad calls everyone else's names pointing at them.

"Carol Peletier, Maggie Greene, Beth Greene, Glenn Rhee, Daryl Dixon, Hershel Greene, and T-Dog," Dad says. I have to admit that Dixon guy is a H-O-T-T-I-E. Carl shows me where my "room" is at and helps me settle in. We talk about our lives before the walkers came. I feel kinda jealous but happy that Carl had a great life before. Dixon comes in while Carl is sitting and talking away about everything.

"Hey kids, dinner's ready;" Dixon says with a faint smile on his face when he looks at me. We all walk downstairs, talking to each other. I see Dad and Lori sitting next to each other. We all walk in and Dad hands me and Carl a bowl each and we sit down and eat. We all talk and get to know each other. By the end of the night Beth, Maggie, and I are friends. They are nice girls but it's hard to get close again if you know what I mean. Carl and I decide to have a sleepover in my room to get to know each other better. I love the fact that I have a little brother and a new baby brother or sister on the way. I lay on the bed next to Carl and we talk all night until one question comes up.

"So, have you ever had a boyfriend Ana?" Carl asks me. I knew someone would end up asking someday.

"Yeah I did, his name was Joshua. He and my best friend were all the family I had. But one day we were bringing in supplies into a house, I came back outside in time to see Josh get bitten. I killed the walker and Chanel and I took him inside. I stayed with him for two days until one night he passed away and the next morning during breakfast we heard moaning and groaning we looked up and saw him walking towards us. I stabbed and killed him." I say with tears running down my cheeks. Carl hugs me close and we soon fall asleep. The next morning, Dad comes up and wakes us up. We walk down and have breakfast together.

"Ana, could I possibly teach you to hunt with a crossbow and arrow?" Dixon asks. I look at Dad and he nods.

"Sure Dixon, sounds like fun" I smile at him using his last name. After breakfast, we walk down to the fence line and he shows me how to shoot it. Dixon actually puts his arms around me and I smile.

"So where's your family Dixon?" I ask gently.

"My brother works for the governor you'll know that guy soon enough," he says. "What about your mom?" He asks me.

"She passed away when I was 10, her and my step-father" I answer him. He whispers sorry into my ear as he helps shot the crossbow. I don't know what it is but I like being in his arms. It makes me feel safe.
