Luke POV

It happened again. I couldn't find the time to see Zoe. To make up for it,  I bought her a stuffed Kiwi toy at Duty-Free at the airport.

I sent her an email explaining why I was unable to meet her on Friday. It took her an hour to reply;

"That's fine. I had a hunch anyways. We have to take the good with the bad, don't we? Also, just letting you know, you have a very pissed off and disappointed little on your hands, Daddy."

I sighed, she had no idea how hard I was working to be a good provider, I was in the middle of a business deal which would you set us up for life.

"I know you're annoyed at me, my dear, but Daddy is working very hard, I'm in the middle of a very expensive business deal which would mean that I would only have to sell my name and travel the world."

Within mere minutes I received her reply;

"That's wonderful, Luke, why didn't you tell me? I'm so incredibly proud, impressed and pleased for you!"

I smiled. I don't know why I didn't tell her - I just didn't want to seem like an idiot, because I knew I had been letting her down, and because I didn't know how she'd react.

But, I was very pleased that she was impressed with me; I didn't hear that enough from her and I had hardly heard it from my ex-wife.

I sent her a reply, telling her that I was boarding and that I would be back in Melbourne in a few hours.

Zoe POV

I was filled with admiration and awe for Luke and his success with work. He had worked very hard for his career in the difficult industry, and I couldn't believe he hadn't told me. I was slightly confused because his theory of no secrets didn't seem to apply to him.

I was pleased and disappointed at the same time. I was sick of being disappointed and upset by him. Most of all, I was just upset because I thought he was cheating on me.

I sent him an email and waited for his reply;

"Sure, you're making it sound a bit ominous though. Please, please, please don't break up with me."

It reached 5:40pm by the time I reached my computer, he sent me an email asking me if I had forgotten the time or was with family. I sent him the link to our video chat site and within fifteen minutes he was on the screen. He looked unshaven, unwell, and anything but the Luke I had come to know and love.

"You look terrible."

He sighed and sniffed.

"I have a cold."

"No, sweetheart, you have the man-flu."

How could I be angry with someone like this? Someone who made time for me when he was unwell and obviously wanted to go to bed.

"I wish you were here to look after me."

"I wish I was too."

I missed him so much. It's terrible loving someone who you can't see in person. It's like a long-distance relationship but a whole lot worse. Because you know they're within your proximity, but you can't see them.

"You look very sexy."

I curled my lips upward.

"I'm not breaking up with you."

"I know, I'm just sensitive when I'm sick."

"I love you, Luke."

"Ditto."

He smiled and I grinned back.

I proceeded to unbutton my shirt, all the way down to where Luke could just see my cleavage.

"You're not wearing a bra."

"No, I'm not."

He smiled.

I took my shirt off and sat in front of him, topless.

I proceeded to run my hands up and down my chest and stomach. I pressed my sensitive nipples in between my thumb and forefinger and bit my lower lip.

Luke's sigh became deeper and I could tell he was hard. He looked at me with desire and lust.

After a few more minutes of my teasing, he asked me to blow him a kiss before he went to sleep.

"Emotional over physical." Was his reasoning.

We waved goodbye and I turned off my laptop.

I sat myself in front of the couch and turned on Netflix put on 'Weeds' and seriously reconsidered my career path.

After a few moments, my phone buzzed with an email; it was from Professor Grahaem.

"Dear Zoe, could you please come by my office tomorrow, I have something important to discuss with you regarding your recent results."

I inwardly groaned and sent him a reply;

"Dear Professor Grahaem, that's fine. I will be there at 8am tomorrow morning."

I turned the TV back on and my phone buzzed again;

"That is too early for an office meeting. Let's get coffee instead."

I inhaled deeply and I could suddenly feel a twist in my stomach forming; something about this didn't feel right; but worst of all, I somehow didn't think I could tell Luke.
