Austin. Austin Mahone just saved my life. I felt the air hitch in my throat, my ability to speak was faltered and I found myself staring at him.

“What are you doing out here? Don’t you know how dangerous this part of the city is? You could've gotten yourself killed” he hissed. He towered over my short 5ft 4 inch frame. I felt myself beginning to bubble with anger at his words and I regained my speech. “Why would you care? All you ever do is put me down, wouldn't I be better off, dead? “ I retaliated. My chest rose and fell in anger as my fists clenched, I was infuriated now. Why would he even care? All he ever did was tag along with Madison's crew and throw horrible words in my face and laugh when the pushed me around.

I watched as he stepped back, I guess he was taken aback by my fury. I'd never reacted like this before, not when he was with Madison, not even with just Madison and her wannabes. But this was different, I knew they didn't care about me and that's why the pushed me around. If they were here they would've left me to die with those men and God knows what else they would do. “I didn't know that got to you” he said scratching the back of his neck through the material of his dark hoodie. “Got to me?” I snorted “People calling me names, pushing me around. Bullying me, oh yeah that doesn't hurt anyone” I scoffed before storming around him and making my way back into the light of the streets. I could hear his him running after me “Rebekah wait up”. “Rebekah?” I scoffed turning on my heels to face him, “I'm surprised you even know my real name, what happened to 'Loser' and 'Slut' and lets not forget 'Fatty'” I could feel the tears welling in my eyes as those words brought back all the feelings and memories and lets not forget the constant nightmares.

Before he could see me cry I clutched my bag to my side I ran. The tears streamed down my face making my vision turn blurry. I could hear Austin calling after me as he tried to catch up with me but he never would, I took track so I was fast. It was the only thing I did that took my mind off everything. But running with lack of vision was a little more difficult than normal and before I could stop myself I tripped over a uneven part of the path, I went tumbling forward and before I could get back up Austin had caught up to me. He knelt down beside me “Are you okay?” he asked putting his hand out as helpful gesture which I rejected “I'm fine” I spat trying to hide the tears that were still falling. I got up and dusted myself off “Can you just leave me alone?” I sighed walking on. “At least let me give you a ride” he said timidly afraid I might flip again. I turned to him and just nodded. It meant I'd get to Emilie's quicker.

The journey was spent in a very uncomfortable silence as I directed him to Emilie's house. Once we got there he stopped the car and turned to me and just stared. “Thanks for the ride” I muttered before getting out of the car and almost running to Emilie's door. I heard him drive off and I felt myself able to relax. I knocked on Emilie's door and her Mom answered “Hey Mrs Bradley” I smiled, I loved Emilie's Mom, she treated me as If I was her own and made me feel wanted, almost. “Hey Bekah” she smiled standing to the side and letting me inside “Em's in her room” she said with a warm loving smile. I ran up the stairs and without even knocking on Emilie's door I stormed in and when she looked at me I just began to cry. She ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug “God, Bekah what happened” she said squeezing me tighter.

I had been completely broken that evening and my walls had crumbled and everything just came out of my mouth. I told her everything. From my dad to all that had happened that night, and she listened and cried with me.

“Why didn't you tell me” she said tears falling from her big blue eyes. “I could've helped you”. I was crying so hard I was unable to speak. “You can stay with me for as long as you like, Ill just tell Mom you've fallen out with your parents or something but we'll fix this” she said her face breaking into a small smile. I suddenly felt as if for once everything might be okay. I forced a smile as an agreement and she just hugged me.

She pulled back from the hug “There's something I need to tell you” She said grinning from ear to ear. I was curious now, wiping my eyes I looked at her “W-what?” I managed to piece together. “I got us invited to Chad Dillon's party” she said bouncing on her bed. I felt myself become tense. I'd never been to a party, never mind the captain of the basketball teams party. I was pretty anti-social as if I was to go anywhere Madison and her wannabes would be there and Austin and his crew. I gulped, Emilie knew what I was thinking “C'mon Bekah, it's a party there is a 95% chance they won't even see you, have you seen Chad's house? It's HUGE” she said poking my arm. “Plus Madislut will be up in a room with some random boy” she said causing me to laugh. “So you'll go?” her voice was hopeful. “Okay” I sighed giving in causing her to shriek and hug me. I laughed and thought to myself

This might be fun. And I don't have to hide any more, it's time I stood up to Madison and her wannabes. It's time to show them I can be strong.

This might be fun

might.....
