(Jacob's POV)
I was sitting over at Sam's when I got a call. I look at my phone and it was Bella.
''Hey Bells. Whats up?''
''Can i come over i really need a friend right now?'' She asked in a voice that sounded like she was going to cry.
''Are you ok Bella?'' I asked with worry.
''N-n-n-n-no.'' she said just about to cry.
''Ya no problem. Meet me at my house.''
''Ok'' she said quietly.
I stood from the couch and put my phone back into my pocket. I was about to walk out the door when Sam yelled to me.
I walked out the back door to where Sam and the pack along with some girl that had her back turned to me.
''Sam i cant stay i really have to go now. Im meeting up with Bella'' I told him.
''Come on Jake you know she brings danger where ever she goes''
''No she doesnt and if she does she cant help it!'' I was yelling now.
''Fine go but you better be back before dinner we need to talk.''
''Yes dad'' I growled in response. With that I left.
(Rachel's POV)
I was standing in Sam's backyard just talking to the "pack" my brother calls them. We were just talking about randomness when I herd Sam calling for someone. I turned around to see who it was but I didn't think I saw him before. I went to turn back to Paul who was talking when I herd Sam and that guy arguing.
"Fine go but you better be back before dinner we need to talk."
"Yes dad." That was all I was able to catch from the conversation. I was a little bit confused when he called him "dad". I didn't know if he was his son or if he ment that as a figur of speech.
"Who was that guy that just left?" I asked.
"That's Jacob. He's also one of us." Paul answered me.
"Is he Sam's son?"
"No why would you think that? Sam doesn't look that old does he?"
"No no its just that "Jacob" called him "dad" but now that you told me he wasn't I think he ment it in a sarcastic way."
"Ya he tends to do that" Embry said.
"Who's Bella? I think I heard Sam and Jacob talking about her." I asked not really knowing why I even cared. I didn't know Jacob or Bella but I guess I'm just nosy that way.
"She's the girl that Jacob keeps saying he loves. Someday he is going to find his imprint and forget all about her and we will all be waiting for that day to come."
I tried to process this. What did he mean by "imprint" or that "they all would be waiting for that day"? "What do you mean? Do you guys not like her?"
"It's not that we don't like her it's...just...she brings a lot of danger to us and a lot of hurt to Jake." Quil tried to explain to me.
"Ok. I get that but what do you mean by "imprint" on someone?" I was way past confused right now but I was trying to understand.
"You don't know what imprinting is?! But your a wolf all of us know what it is how..." Paul got cut off by my brother.
"Don't you remember? She was gone for a couple years now. Why would she know if there was no one there to tell her about it?"
Everyone made that oh-that's-right kind of face. I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"So... what is it exactly?" I asked.
"It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like... gravity moves.... suddenly. It's not the earth holding you here anymore, she does.... You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, or a lover, or a friend." Quil explained to me.
"It sounds like know from experience. Have you ever... imprinted on someone?" I was a little scared to ask him seeing as he is my brother.
"Yes actually I have. Her name is Claire and she is the cutest thing I have ever seen."
"Of course you would say that she is your imprint." Embry butted in laughing with Paul.
A girl that looked no older that 20 walked out the door. "Foods ready!" she yelled.
We all ran to the door. We were so hungry or maybe it's because we're wolves and love food. Let's just go with both. I was the last one in the door and there was one seat left open between Seth and Embry. The same girl walked out putting all the food down on the table. Everyone started diving at the food while I just sat there waiting for them to all get their food. "Are you going to eat or not?" Seth asked shocked at me because I wasn't diving in like the rest of them.
"No I'm going to eat I just have to wait till you all get yours." I said simply.
"Why? Does it look like we wait for each other?"
"No but..." I was about to finish but I got a lump in my throat.
"But what?" He pressed on making my relive my past. I could help but let a tear slide down my face.
"Rachel are you ok?" My brother asked coming over to me from his spot at the table. I've never heard so much concern in anyone's voice for me. I wanted to keep crying but I bit back the tears. I've learned not to cry anymore.
"Ya I-I-I'm f-fi-fine" I said in between sobs. I stood up and walked over to the girl that made us lunch. "Um..." I didn't know her name so I just stood there waiting for her to catch on which she did.
"I'm Emily... Sam's fiancé."
"May I use your bathroom please Emily?"
"Yup it's upstairs first door on the left." She said with the most beautiful smile I have ever seen.
"Thank you." I grabbed my bag and went up the stairs to the bathroom. I shut the door and stood there facing the mirror.
(Embry's POV)
We all watched as she grabbed her bag and walked off to the bathroom. We just continued eating while glancing at each other. Finally Seth broke the silence.
"Why was she crying?" he asked looking at Quil.
"I don't know but I should go check on her." he went to stand up when I spoke.
"Don't worry about it. I'll go check on her." I stood up as he sat back down and made my way the the bathroom. I knocked on the door and started to here her shuffle around. "Rachel are you ok in there? Can I come in?" I asked as I grabbed the door handle.
"Hold on I'm almost done." she shouted from behind the door. I waited for her to unlock the door and when I heard the click of the lock I turned the handle and popped my head in the door. I looked in and saw Rachel sitting on the counter playing with her fingers.
"Are you ok? You've been in here for awhile."
(Rachel's POV)
"Are you ok? You've been in here awhile." Embry asked with so much concern that I almost started crying again. "Ya I'm fine just... never mind." I said looking towards the floor. "No come on tell me. You can tell me anything. I know how to keep a secret." he pushed me to talk. "I highly doubt you can keep a secret seeing how you have a connection with the "pack" as you guys call yourself." I said with alittle laugh. "True but you can still trust me or us if you ever want to talk. You know that right?" "Ya I know. Now can we go back and finish eating?" I asked. "Yeah... come on." he said with a chuckle as he led me back to the kitchen.

Sorry for the shortness and for the long wait but I just can't find any time with all my school stuff and sports. Jacob will be coming into the story soon but i have a couple more chapters to do before he comes back into the story or he might be in it in the next chapter but I haven't decided yet so we will just see.
