Chapter 12

Previously:

I look to the house at the same time Stefan does, and we both stop right in front of the porch.

Stefan looks annoyed, and shocked.

While I am straight out confused, the lights are on inside, and I can see two shadows through the white curtains, covering the parlor window.

I look at Stefan in confusion but he gives me a weird look.

"Who's inside your house???"

I ask him still gaping

He gives me an uneasy look

"It's my parents"

Things like this are only supposed to happen in movies, and that's when you laugh at them, so I guess I'm the laughingstock now.

His parents are here!?!

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing!!!

What will they think of me?

I hope they like me, because I don't know what will happen if they don't.

I look at Stefan to see him giving me a worried look

"Alexa, you don't have to meet them if you don't want to...I could just take you home and we could finish what we started"

I have to admit that the last part of his sentence was clever-but not quite clever enough.

I don't get why he doesn't want me to meet his parents-they can't be that bad can they?

He never said that they were formal, and snobby rich people, he's always said good things about them.

The way he talks about his father, it's obvious he wants to be like him, and from what I've heard about his mother she's an absolute pleasure to be around.

So why is he looking worried?

Do they not want to meet me?

I look at Stefan sadly

"Does your family not want to meet me?"

His face suddenly drops, and he shakes his head quickly

"No! That's not it at all... Come on. I'll introduce you to them."

He grabs my hand and we walk up the front porch steps-and I wear a smug smile while he isn't looking at me, he obviously fell for it! Ha! sucker!

As we approach the door I expect for someone from the inside to open it and greet us. But no one does, instead Stefan reaches into his jeans pocket and pulls out his keys.

As he unlocks the door a weird sense of nervousness comes over me.

As soon as he opens the door, I feel him tense beside me, tightening his hold on my hand.

As we walk inside I see 2 people sitting on the couch, obviously a couple- a cute couple at that.

Hmm... Stefan didn't tell me that other people were here.
