Just then a tall thin, guy opened the door carrying a 12 pack of beer. He stared at our expressions of shock.
"What?"
We stared at the guy for a second and then we all just busted out laughing. My god I just felt like an ass.
"Ugh I had too much to smoke." Anthony said.
“I think we all had too much to smoke.” Rob said.
Once it hit 3 am Rob decided to call it a night and we headed home. Riding on the motorcycle the breeze was very comforting. Since the streets were always deserted, we didn't really worry about a cop pulling us due to his driving past the red lights.
I thought about what Anthony had said. "I've seen him." His words echoed in my mind. Describing the image, the same I saw in my dream. Was he really messing around or was there something going on? Something no one can explain. I mean it's kind of stupid, a big scary, pale ghost or demon killing off people so violently.
We stopped in Rob's driveway. He helped me take off the helmet and then walked me to my door.
“So, had fun?” He asked as I took out my keys.
“Sure, I love me some corny ghost’s stories.” I laughed at my own stupid joke.
“Yeah, I guess Anthony’s a little too hard on drinking sometimes.” Rob smiled but it kind of faded as he turned his head away from me.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m just tired.” He yawned as he said that.
“Convincing.” I nodded in approval.
We both chuckled. He placed his hand under my chin and slowly pulled me in for a kiss. My eyes slowly closed as soon as he was an inch away from my face. His soft lips brushed against mine slowly until I embraced him. It was short, but very sweet.
After he left I went inside and straight to bed. I was feeling exhausted. I changed into a large white t-shirt and mix matched socks. As I approached the bed I felt a cold tingle down my spine. My stomach clenched and my breathing stopped for a second. There was someone in the bed. I can see the shape of someone under the sheets. He or she was lying on their side. I felt myself begin to tremble. I wasn't gonna go near the sheets. Nothing good ever happens from that. I turned to run from the room but my door slammed shut as I approached. I grabbed the doorknob but as soon as I touched it I flinched back in pain as it was freezing to the touch.
I heard movement from the bed. It sounded like gurgling. No, I won't turn around. I won't do it. More movement and this time a whisper. Nope. Not turning.
I must have stood still for a minute. I couldn't turn around. But another whisper and this time I heard my name, “Crystal” I had to do it. I slowly turned. There was the shape in the bed. Only now blood started forming from under the sheets. I took a deep breath and pulled back the sheets.
