'Yessss, the weekend again, it's about bloody time I can feel a good mix coming' Beca thought to herself as she has just finished her final class for the day and was watching her students file out of the classroom, chatting excitedly.
Teaching was something Beca surprisingly loved, despite her dislike for making friends and being extremely social, she'd had a lot of good times here. It was always nice to study her students and watch them grow and blossom as they grow older and more confident and then finally watch them leave the school to lead their own lives.
Music seemed to be a good subject to teach to really connect with the kids, there wasn't much writing and it allowed creativity to flow so Beca could really tell each students character through the music they play. But it was not only the students that make teaching worthwhile, Beca didn't like to admit it too much but she'd grown to really like the people she works with and considers many of them as friends, especially Jesse, Stacie and even Aubrey. Jesse had been the first person Beca had met on the job and he was very keen to get to know the girl, however once Beca admitted to him she was gay he backed down a bit but still loved Beca all the same. Stacie and Aubrey sort of came as a package, the uptight blonde did scare Beca a bit and the two had disliked eachother at the start but now they'd grown to like eachother. Stacie, the leggy brunette, was liked by everyone really, for many reasons but Beca liked her because of her personality. Once you get past her... Overtly sexual look, she was a really nice person. So all in all, teaching had done Beca good.As Beca was about to walk out of her classroom she remembered she had promised to show a student a piano song for the end of year concert.. 'Shit! I can barely even remember it...! And to think I was about to leave.' Beca thought as she hurried to the grand piano in the corner of the room with a sigh. She sat down and began playing, the piano notes relaxing her and helping her remember where to place her fingers as the classical song came back to her. She closed her eyes and just enjoyed the music....
Meanwhile...
The bell signalling the end of the school day rang and Chloe's class began packing away and heading out the door for the weekend. Chloe sighed, content with how the previous months had been at Barden, she'd met some amazing people, students and fellow teachers. Especially Beca, the girl she had been crushing on since the day she started at the school and who Jesse had suggested she ask out, even if it was just for coffee after Chloe admitted to liking the petite brunette. 'Now or never Beale it's only coffee of course she'll say yes...' Chloe though as she gathered her things and headed down the corridor to the music hall humming lightly to herself. As she reached the door it was slightly propped open by a wooden wedge. Chloe's heart was suddenly tugged by the sound of gentle music coming from inside the hall, it was beautiful to say the least. Chloe shuffled inside the hall and looked around the hall. Her eyes landed on the black grand piano in the corner of the room and immediately found the petite brunette sat at the stool, fingers dancing expertly over the keys, creating the melody.
Chloe sat on the few steps that led up to the stage and studied Beca. Her eyes were closed gently with a slight smile creeping on her lips as she played the song. It was clear Beca had had lessons previously as she didn't even need to look to see where the next note was. Chloe recognised the song but couldn't name it, she could guess it was Beethoven or maybe Mozart.
As the song came to an end, Beca had opened her eyes and was staring down at her hands as they played the final notes.Chloe didn't miss the way Beca's hands glided up to her eyes to wipe away the stray tears that had fallen during the song. 'Does this song mean something to her?' Chloe pondered as she watched Beca silently stand up and begin shuffling papers with a slight cough.
"That was.... Beautiful," Chloe spoke up softly. Beca seemed to jump slightly as she turned on her heels and locked her eyes onto Chloe's instantly, they softened slightly before she spoke.
"Chloe!!! Y'know how kind of creepy and scary that is dude... You nearly gave me a bloody heart attack! But y'know thanks I guess..." Beca laughed lightly before coughing slightly and turning back to gather the papers that she had dropped after the shock of hearing Chloe. She couldn't resist baling up a piece of paper and throwing it towards Chloe with a grumble.Beca then walked up to Chloe before gesturing to the door asking her to walk with her. Chloe obliged and the two walked out the the hall together, Chloe still giggling at the sight of a surprised and slightly angry Beca.
"Seriously, it wasn't funny!" Beca slapped Chloe lightly on the arm, "What would you have done if I had of collapsed right there and then huh!"
"Well I guess... Ok I have no idea but it didn't happen! You're such a drama queen Becs," Chloe lighty pushed Beca and Beca crashed on the floor. "Oh shit... Beca are you okay?" Chloe asked.
"Owwww my ankle, shit." Beca groaned.
"Urgh wait here I'll go find Jesse to come help you," Chloe jogged off into the many corridors towards Jesse's room, she knew he'd be there.A few minutes later Chloe returned with Jesse by her side, Beca was still lying on the floor.
"Pretty impressive Beale," Beca said, she was lightly smiling up at Chloe.
"Huh?" Chloe cocked an eyebrow at Beca. Soon the young brunette was in fits of laughter rolling around on the floor, she then stood up and jumped around the corridor.
"Dude you should've seen you! Least now I know what you'd do if I collapsed, sorry for getting you involved Jess I just had to do this," Beca was still laughing but apologised to Jesse who simply chuckled and shook his head before waving to the pair and walking back to his class.
Soon after, Beca got a light smack on her arm,
"I hate you..." Chloe looked at Beca but couldn't help but smile at the girls dorkiness.. Of course she'd pull a stunt like that.
Beca simply laughed to herself and smirked at Chloe out of the corner of her eye.Soon the pair were in the parking lot and were headed to their cars so they could get home.
"Hey I almost forgot to ask... Fancy grabbing a coffee tomorrow? Nothing fancy, we could maybe talk more about the end of year concert? I'd love to hear more about it." Chloe hoped Beca would say yes, but she was still unsure.
"Mmmm, sure don't see why not," Beca smirked at Chloe.
"You're so cocky," Chloe joked, sticking her tongue out at Beca, "I'll text you in the morning, you better be awake this time!"
"Dude it was like 11am! Urgh I'll try and wake up earlier, but I make no promises,"
"I'll take whatever I can get, catch you tomorrow Mitchell," Chloe clambered in her car with a quick smile and wave in Beca's direction.
"Laters, Beale,"'Man she asked before I even had the chance... Suits me though' Beca thought, smirking as she climbed in her car, started the ignition and drove off away from Barden, happy with how the day had gone. Tomorrow would be awesome, no doubt.
