I finished the last note on vocals as Jaime finished the last chord on my newest song, "Pierce the Veil".
Sweat was running down my face, yet again.
I walked towards the cooler I had put outside for when I'm nearly dying of dehydration and opened it, reaching in for a bottle of water, "Want one?" I asked Jaime.
"I wouldn't mind one." He said, smiling now. It was so lovely to see Jaime smiling again. It kind of brought joy to myself. Which only has ever happened once before, and I didn't even it like it when it did happen. Now is different, though. I can feel something forming between us. We're bonding, unlike before.
I grabbed two bottles and pushed the lid back on and locked it in place. I didn't walk far before I decided to crash on the concrete to just sit, and relax. I threw Jaime's water bottle towards him and he caught it. I opened mine and began to chug down at least half the bottle.
"So, what exactly is that song about?" Jaime asked, finding a place to sit.
"Pierce the Veil?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Honestly, I don't really remember. It was a song I wrote forever ago, I just never got around to making it a song." I said.
"Ah." Jaime replied, simply.
"Yep."
I gulped down the rest of my bottle and sighed.
"So, how do you think I did?" I asked, dying to hear Jaime's opinion.
"You did great. A bit pitchy on some parts, but, hey, you'll get there." He winked almost sarcastically.
"Dick." I said, leaning back and rolling my eyes.
"You wish."
"What?" I asked, nearly blushing.
"Oh, nothing."
There was a moment of silence, and then we heard laughter in the house.
Jaime looked at the door, then at me, "Mike and Tony?" he asked.
"Fraid so." I said, losing the smile on my face. I was actually beginning to enjoy talking to Jaime, even after that dumb comment he had made.
"Is that a bad thing?" Jaime asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Not necessarily, but I was enjoying talking to you."
"Vic Fuentes!? Enjoying talking to Jaime Preciado?! O-M-G. How fascinating."
"Oh, shut up. I don't like you that much." I said.
"But you do like me?" He asked, raising his right eyebrow.
"Let's not talk about that right now."
"And why not?"
The door opened to the garage before I could get any words out of my mouth. Mike was standing there with Tony and both of their hair was completely messed up. Individual pieces were sticking out everywhere, and at the roots of their hair you could see what looked like sweat.
"What have you two been doing?" I asked, laughing.
They looked at each other in sync, then back at Jaime and me.
"Uhh..." Mike was at a loss of words.
"Uhh.." Tony began to speak, but also lost his train of thought.
I raised my eyebrows and looked at Mike.
"We were just uh..We were just jogging. We went for a jog." Mike said.
