Looking For Lani

"Wait!" Lani screamed just before the door closed. She fell to the ground forgetting about the chain around her foot tied to the bed behind her. "Damn it!" She slammed her hand on the wet ground and stood up slowly. She turned away from the door and walked over to the bed. It was as hard as rock and the blanket only fit around her legs. She sat down and curled up in a ball shivering trying to stretch the blanket out all over her body.

Lani woke up with the blanket on the floor and the door wide open. She rubbed her eyes and stood up. Looking at the door she thought it couldn't be possible. She ran towards the door falling, again. "Fuck!" Lani picked up the large chain attached to her ankle, then searched the room for something sharp enough to break lose. All she could spot was a unlit candle, a yoyo, and a old cup to catch the leek that dropped water from it. Drop, drop, drop. The water fell distracting Lani from what she had been doing. A loud slam from the door infront of her woke her from her trance. "Good morning!" A man with a black shaved head and a giant scar that covered his left eye, walked in. He was holding a tray with an old carton of milk and some toast. Lani stayed quiet giving him an evil stare. "Did you try to escape?" He set the food down on her bed, "You won't be able to get out of here, no one wants you." He kneeled down and put his nose up to her forehead, "No one wants you!" Lani nudged her head away and the man smiled. "Fine have it your way!" He stormed out of the room slaming the door behind him. Lani jumped when it closed, when she knew he was really gone she rushed up onto the bed to stuff the toast into her mouth. Her long white blonde hair fell down to her waist, so much longer then before. Before this started, before she was stuck down in an old storage room chained to a metal bed.

Normal. That's all Lani was, a normal 16 year old girl who lived in a huge mansion with her family of 4. Mother,

Father and older sister. She went to private school had a few friends, a few enemies. November 25th 1999 was when it all changed. She was on her way home from school with her boyfriend when a group of guys came out from around the corner. They knocked Lani's boyfriend around for a while and took Lani away when he was down. She's been locked away for 2 years. No family ever looked, no friends. She was unwanted, unloved. Just as the man said. "NO! I'm not. Th-they just haven't found me yet." Lani shouted to herself, she threw the empty tray across the room. It hit the wall and made a hallowed out sound. Lani lifted one eye brow and jumped off the bed, she got down on her hands and knees and crawled over to the noise. She pushed the boxes out of the way and there it was. A perfect sized air vent she could fit through!

Lani was sitting quietly on the corner of her bed when the other man walked in. He looked around the room then at Lani. Lani looked up at him too. "When can I leave?" She asked, but all the man did was smirk. He walked closer to her, "Who knows. It all dependes on when I get my money. Which most likely will never happen since no one cares you're gone." "SHUT UP!" Lani shouted but regretted it right away. The man's smirk went away and changed into a frown. He walked forward again and reached for Lani's arm. "Listen you slut I want my money and your stupid family is going to pay up or..." He was interupted by Lani's foot flying into his face. He fell back and a knife fell out of his pocket. Lani slid it under the bed as fast as she could. She got prepared for a beating. The man put his hand to his eye where his scar had started to bleed again, "You truely are a fool!" He ran out slamming the door, again. Lani smiled and reached under her bed for the knife.
