A few hours later and Lani awoke. She walked down the steps to see Jack and his mother at the dining room table. She slowly and quietly went down the steps not even thinking about how Jacks mom would react when she saw a random girl coming out of jacks room. A creek came from one of the steps and Lani stopped walking. Jack and his mom both looked up at her, her moms mouth dropping to the floor. Jack stood shaking his head.
"Who's this?" His mom asked, her face shifting from surprised to curious. She nudged Jack and chuckled a little. Lani sighed, she wasn't the mom who got mad if a random girl was in her house! Thank god! Jack looked back at his mother shocked she wasn't going crazy.
"Uh... This is, um..." He was at lost with words, luckily Lani knew exactly what to say.
"I'm Lani, jacks friend from school. We're working on a science project for school." Lani placed a smiled on her face and flipped her hair, trying to look like a normal teenage girl.
"I didn't see you come in." Her wide smile turned to a small grin.
"I came when you were at work." Lani remembered jack telling her his mom was at work. Jacks mom just nodded her head. Jack rushed over to the bottom of the steps where Lani stood.
"Yeah, oops forgot to tell you." He shifted his head from Lani to his mother rubbing the back of his head. His mother smiled and sat back down.
She looked up raising her eyebrow, "is this how you treat your guests? Get her something to eat, I bet she's starving being here for so long. Jack jumped up and rushed to the kitchen drawers his mother got up and exited the room jack let out a sigh and stopped his search, he walked over to Lani.
"Well that was close." He said to her as she put her hair behind her ear. She giggled a little and sighed looking down the hall Jacks mother had exited.
"Sorry about that." She walked to the kitchen table they were sitting at and Lani took a seat, "well I am a little tired, think you could get me a coffee?" Lani put a cute smile on her face and jack rolled his eyes walking to the coffee machine giving a sarcastic 'ha'
