Ally was about to run up the stairs when she felt a soft grip around her wrist. She turned around and saw Stevie staring at her with pleading eyes.
"Please" Stevie whispered. Ally, knowing what Stevie meant nodded slowly after a moment of hesitation.
Stevie released her loose grip on Ally's wrist before going upstairs to see Daisy. Stevie slowly opened the door of Daisy's bedroom and turned on the light.
Daisy looked at her, her eyes red and puffy. Stevie knew that Daisy had been crying so approached her carefully not wanting to upset the young girl any more.
When she sat on the edge of Daisy's bed, Daisy flinched before looking away.
"How come you're crying Daisy" Stevie said softly.
"I want mommy" Daisy said between her quiet sniffles.
"You can talk to me" Stevie pulled Daisy into her arms and rocked back and forth in attempt to comfort the tense girl.
"I had a scary dream"
"A nightmare" Stevie questioned.
Daisy shook her head, "a scary dream" Daisy confirmed. "It was a happy dream but it got scary and I didnt like it" Daisy mumbled close to tears again.
"What happened"
"Me, you and mommy were playing with noodle but you started shouting again like you did at mommy and you scared me"
Stevie sighed, heartbroken at her daughters words. "You don't need to be scared of me" Stevie said as she continued to hold her daughter. "Sometimes when mommies talk they shout, and I know it might be scary sometimes but me and mommy will be ok I promise"
Daisy nodded before hugging Stevie tightly. "I'll keep you safe ok, you never need to be scared, I love you"
"I love you mama"
After a few minutes of sitting quietly, Daisy lifted her head up to look at Stevie. "Where's mommy" Daisy asked Stevie.
"She's downstairs"
"Can we go see her" Daisy asked as he sat up.
"Of course we can" Stevie stood up and started walking towards the door when she noticed that Daisy was still standing on her bed but she was waving her arms about.
"Mommy pick me up"
Stevie laughed at her daughters actions before walking towards Daisy. "Aren't you too old for this" Stevies said as she picked daisy up and walked out of her room.
"No" Daisy giggled. "You're old momma" Daisy said before laughing against.
"And you're very cheeky" Stevie replied, tickling Daisy as she walked downstairs.
"Mommy" Daisy said excitedly. Ally offered Stevie a small smile as she admired the adorable sight in front of her.
"You two look so cute"
