Chapter 11
Everything eventually went back to normal. Almost.
My wing still hurt like pit and the children were in shockwave's lab being changed. It's been like that for a week, and I still hadn't figured out what I was going to name my new pet.
There was also the matter of Cybertron. Were we going to invade it? Take it back? Or were we going to stay here with the Autobots on Earth and destroy them? Two things were obvious about our choices. One, it's not like we could fly the Nemesis through a space bridge and just go to our planet. The Autobots would shoot us down as soon as we came into firing range. Two, Earth was eventually going to run out of energon. We couldn't stay forever. Megatron, Shockwave, and I had discussed the possibility of sending someone to neutralize their weapons. The only problem was getting a small enough bomb that could be transported by an individual and getting it to have a big enough and strong enough explosion. We had to wait until Shockwave had finished his project with the humans before he could begin that one.
Things with Knockout had been strange to say the least. We were sort of nervous around each other after Megatron interrupted our almost-kiss. Maybe after the war was over, however far away that was, we would admit our feelings for each other and have a relationship. But for now, the Autobots were storming another mine.
It was obvious to us all that this was their plan to get the children back. We decided to take fliers so there wouldn't be any possibility of an Autobot getting into one of our bridges.
Megatron, Starscream, a squadron of fliers, and I went, leaving Soundwave in charge of the ship.
Every Autobot was there except for their medic, naturally. The old timer probably had more than a few rusty gears.
"Return the children, Megatron!" Prime demanded. He looked furious.
"Why should I? They are being well taken care of on my ship."
"They are humans and you have no right to hold them as prisoners of war!"
"You see, Optimus, that's where you're wrong. When Shockwave is done with them, they will no longer be human or have memories of any ties they may have with you accursed Autobots."
The Autobot leader was enraged. "Megatron, you have done many foul things, but this time you've really crossed a line."
They charged simultaneously, and Starscream fled just seconds after. Figures. He would face Megatron's wrath later.
The drones and I faced the rest of the Autobots while Optimus and Megatron battled it out.
"Give it up. There is no reason to fight for the children anymore. Project cybercat is nearly complete. They will serve as Decepticon pets when it is done."
Optimus only pushed himself harder.
The drones were falling fast. We were quickly becoming outnumbered. We had to pull out. Allowing them one mine was hardly a setback of our resources. But I would not fallback until Megatron did.
Megatron had son given the order to go back to the ship. We circled around so the Autobots would not know what direction the ship was in.
He was not upset in the slightest. We may have lost the battle, but we had the upper hand in the war.
