  "I still can't believe you got us an invite to Nate Maloley's party" Aria said while contouring her face. We were currently in my room getting ready for the party. Aria was in a black romper with a kimono on top of it and I had an olive mini skirt with a black long sleeve. We were both pretty nervous for the party, since we had never really been to a party like this before.

  " I can't really believe it either. It just kinda happened" I smiled to myself

  "And by Jack Gilinsky himself!"
  "All I gotta say is thank you mama grey" I laughed
  "You're right, my mom is the reason we are going to the party of the year" we laughed at the thought and continued our prepping.
Once we were done we took our basic mirror pic.
  "We look hot tonight R" I said
  "We really do. But I do miss my leggings" she laughed
  "Don't we all?" We walked to my car and drove to Maloley's house. The address was all over Twitter, so I really didn't need to worry about that. The party was in full swing by the time we arrived, so we just let ourselves in. Aria quickly found her boyfriend and I quickly found the drinks. Story of my life though.
  "For a girl who doesn't go out a lot, you sure know how to dress for it" I heard behind me.
  "Jack" I smiled
  "You came" he smirked
  "Yea, it was a hard offer to pass up" I said mixing some rum with Coca Cola.
  "Woah woah woah, you are supposed to be a good influence on me" Jack said pointing to my drink
  "Oops my bad" I smirked. He smiled at me, revealing how cute he looks when he does. Which is really cute.

  "So, this is weird talking outside of tutoring. I feel like i should be naming the parts of a plant cell."

  "Oh please don't. The last thing i need to hear about right now is school stuff.Talk to me about something else" I said leaning against the table
"You look really good tonight" He said leaning with me

"You said that already"

"Well, how come I have really never seen you before. I mean you're hot and your actually pretty cool. South High is not that big" He said to me.

"I told you already, you may not think this, but at school if I am not in a cheerleader's uniform or volleyball spandex, I'm kind of invisible. Me and my friends sit by the baseball fields at lunch and leave right after school. I would rather not spend any more time there than I have to. I don't go to football games, or pep rallies. I do what I have to do and-"I was interrupted by a stoned Nate Maloley.

"G!" He walked up in ripped jeans and a Kobe jersey.

"Aye Nate good to see ya but give me a sec alright?" Jack said to his friend. I realized now that I was basically going on a rant and somehow, Jack was still listening.

"Aight bro, see you later" Nate said walking away and heading straight to the garage.

"Keep going" He said to me with this weird facial expression. It was a mix of interest, sorrow, and pity. But somehow it made me feel wanted.

"I- I don't remember where is was" I said looking down.

"You were saying how I am a complete asshole and I need to open my eyes and realize that there is a whole other world beyond what I limit myself too" Jack said

"You're getting sappy on me again Gilinsky" I laughed

"Oops my bad" Jack said imitating me from earlier.

"You can go hang out with your friends now, I don't want to keep you away from them for too long" I said realizing that we have been talking for a long time.

"Nah, you are much better company than a rapping Johnson, a flirty Wilkinson and stoned Maloley combined" I laughed at him making fun of his friends "What about you? Got any friends you need to go join"

"Um my friend is occupied at the moment" I said referring to Aria and Matthew arguing in the corner.

"Looks like a happy relationship" He laughed

"They are happy... most of the time" He looked down and I looked at him, realizing that freshman me would be flipping out right now.

"Tell me about yourself apple" Jack said to me. I rolled my eyes at his nick name.

"Well, my name is Cora-" I started

"Not that easy stuff, I mean what do you want to do with your life." He said making himself another drink.

"Well, I want to be a teacher and then maybe even a principal one day" I said thinking about my future life

"Why?"

"I like to help make other peoples life better and watching them grow. I want to do my best to change peoples lives with just one class, like some of my teachers have done to me" I smiled looking down

"Seems like you have your life figured out. And a good one at that" He said looking down at me.

"Yea well I try. What about you?" I said looking up at him

"Well, I want to play football. I got an offer from UCLA-" I choked on my drink

"UCLA offered you to play for them? " I looked at him with wide eyes

"Yea they did. Pretty nice I guess" He said " I haven't told anyone yet"

"That's amazing Jack, I am so happy for you" I grabbed his hand. He looked down at it our now held hands. I dropped them quickly and looked down completely embarrassed.

"Look at that, I made you blush" He said making fun of me.

"Shut up" I said laughing. He grabbed my hand and looked at me.

"No need to be embarrassed apple" He smirked and walked away into the garage with his new drink.
