This morning was one of the easiest mornings to get out of bed and go to school that I have ever faced. Mostly because I am excited to see my friends again, def not the school part. I put on a cute outfit and did my hair nice. Before grabbing an apple juice and granola bar to go. Quickly I drove to school blasting Post Malone, I am in the best mood ever. I have amazing friends and Winter Break is fairly soon. I parked my car and went through my day. I actually didn't see any of them in the beginning periods, but I didn't care because lunch is when we really talk. I turned in all my missing work to my teachers from what I missed and went on throughout my day until the lunch bell rang. I walked into the cafeteria and saw the group smiling, with my spot between Jack and Aria ready for me to sit in. I was oddly stopped by my math partner, Jake. I smiled at him

"Hey Cora, can you send me the homework tonight, I have no fucking clue what is going on" I laughed at his dumbfounded facial expression

    "Sure Jake"

"Thanks" He nodded and then walked off to his own group of friends. But when I looked back to my table, my spot was filled. By a blonde girl, but not just any blonde girl. The new one that I was a TA with, but I assume she transferred out as I didn't see her this morning. I walked around the table and took a seat on the end next to Nate, they had just finished laughing at something

"Hey" I smiled and they all replied with the appropriate responses "What's so funny?"

"Jaye just totally roasted Nate" Aria giggled again and I smiled. Since when did she start sitting with them at lunch, and why didn't Aria ever tell me?

"So Jaye, how have you been liking South High?" Jack asked her

"I love it now that we are friends" She smiled and he smiled back at her. Ummm okay

"So you play Volleyball?" Johnson asked

"Yea, it's so much fun. Hey you know what? We should all go to the beach after school and play volleyball" She said. Pretty sure we already did that Jaye..

    "Sounds like fun" Aria smiled

"Jack, Johnson, Nate, Sam you down?" She looked at them, completely passing over me

    "Sounds good" Sam nodded

"I can't I have make up work" I added, assuming I was invited I guess

"Good. It would have been odd numbers if you came anyways" Jaye pursed her lips

"True, besides Cora you hate stuff like that. You just wouldn't fit in" Aria said. Ouch. What happened to my friends from last night? What is this bullshit?

"Um yea whatever" I nodded looking down at my nails. They continued to talk about Jaye until something caught my attention.

"So you guys have Winterball right?" Jaye asked

"Yes! It is so totally fun" Aria cheered

"We have to go" Jaye smiled "But I am going to need a date" she smirked and looked at my friends.

"Yea I think Winterball would be really fun this year" I nodded and Aria scoffed. "What?" I looked at her

"Cora, you hate school functions. I have asked you for the past three years to go and you haven't. Why are you being a fake bitch in front of them?" Aria asked

"Wha- what?" I looked at my 'bestfriend' with disbelief

"I mean are you kidding me? You act like you would enjoy yourself or something. Just be the real you Cora" Aria said and I stood up

"No wonder you were her only friend Ari, she doesn't even know herself" Jaye looked up at me

    "Guys" Sammy interrupted

"I didn't say that to be mean" Jaye hissed back

"Aria can we talk, in private?" I asked walking away and she followed me out behind the building "What is your fucking problem today?"

"What is my problem today? Where is the Cora I used to know? Because you have been a completely different person ever since Jack. I mean you're going to Winterball? What the fuck Cora?" She said

"You're joking right. This is all because I said Winterball would be fun? Do you know how immature and stupid you sound? You have been a bitch to me ALL lunch, no thanks to that Jaye girl. Who the fuck is she anyways?"

"A girl who has been here while you haven't, sorry Cora but she's really cool and I am going to keep hanging out with her" Aria pursed her lips the exact same way Jaye did earlier.

"Who are you right now?" I shook my head "Listen, you were the one always telling me to live a better highschool life and now that I am you completely turn on me? You are insane"

"You know what Cora? I am tired of you constantly making me feel bad for you" She said

"Last night, you were so sweet to me. Everyone was, and I show up today replaced. And I feel like you guys don't even see me with Jaye there" I began

"You were hit by a car, you think I am going to be a bitch to you?" She raised her eyebrows

"I thought we were bestfriends" I said

"Yeah well, people change" She looked at me

"Fine, don't fucking talk to me anymore. What do I care?" I began to walk away

"Don't bother sitting with us at lunch anymore. Jaye didn't like you anyways" She said and I threw up a middle finger before going straight to my car to leave. Fuck this school and those people.

"I just don't understand Sasha, like how could you be bestfriends with someone for 5 years and they completely switch over night" I was crying to my sister on her bed.

"I don't know Cor, I am just as surprised as you are. It makes no sense, it has to be something with that Jaye girl. Or.. I don't know" She sounded just as sad as I was. Sasha really liked Aria, they were like sisters. No one had made their way into our lives like Aria did.

    "I guess I'm alone again" I sighed

"Hey, you will never be alone okay? I am always here for you. Always. You know that" She said "If you want I can drive to your school every day and we can have lunch together" She grinned which made me laugh

"I think I will be fine sitting in my car" We laughed together

"Maybe Aria had a bad day. You guys are bestfriends, sure what she said was not right but we all lash out at some points. And for going 5 years with no fighting, you kind of set your self up for a huge explosion" She said

"Yea,, you're right. But I am not making the first move" I said

"You don't have to" She smiled "So, what are we watching?" Sasha clicked on Netflix and we spent the night watching movies. I have the best older sister in the world.
