Ch. 27

.: Some Time Later :.

Rin, Len and I were walking down the sidewalk towards Luka's cafe, it was dead silent. No one made a single sound once Rin told the story. Honestly, I'm too scared to talk. Or to even ask the questions that were floating around my head. It's giving me a headache.

Len decided to break the ice with a sigh, placing both of his arms around Rin and I, pulling us closer to him.

"Since my two favorite girls are here with me, why don't we take a detour from Luka's cafe!"

Rin tilted her head, "A detour, why?"

Len's face grew a wide grin, shaking Rin very so lightly.

"I'm glad you asked, dear sister of mine! Let's show (Y/N) around the town!"

I blinked, staring at Len.

"What do you mean, Len? I know where everything is now. I've been living here a fairly good amount of months to know where each stores, parks, stations, even schools are located."

That's when Len flashed me a wink, nudging me lightly.

"Of course you do! But you don't know 'the lake.'"

Rin stopped herself, and gasped. She then gave Len a good smack on the back of his head.

"Don't you ever speak of that place, Lenneth!"

Len rubbed the back of his head with a pained expression on his face.

"Why not? She has to know if she's been living for the past couple of months!"

I stared back and forth at the twins, confused about what they are talking/arguing about. I pull out a small sigh, smile softly at them. I never knew how long I've waited for them to fight so that this awkward silence between the three of us may disappear.

I hesitated, took a few breath before asking Len my question.

"What is 'the lake?'"

Len glanced over at me and smiles while Rin's eyes widen very largely.

"(Y-Y/N), you can be seriously asking about that!"

Rin pushes Len out of her way, placing the back of her hand to my forehead.

"Are you sick? Did you catch a cold?"

I giggled, and hold Rin's hand closely, giving her a soft smile around my face.

"I'm fine, I'm not sick at all. I'm only curious."

Rin sighed before looking over at Len, who was smiling like an idiot. Len glanced over to me.

"We should go find Gakupo then."

I tiled my head slightly to the left.

"Gakupo? Why?"

Rin grinned awkwardly, placing a hand on my right shoulder.

"He's the third person who knows where it is."

I squinted my eyes, confused.

"Third person? Who are the other two?"

Rin and Len both looked at each other, Len having a worried expression on his face. Rin slowly nodded at him, only for him to nod back.

"The first person is the principal of Searing High, Mr. Furukawa. The second person is... Mikuo Hatsune."

My eyes widen. I quickly stared at Rin. She only nodded her head once I laid my eyes on her.

"He took me there once for our second date. But when he told me the story about it, I got scared and run away. I got lost, but luckily he found me before it got too dark so he can take me home."

Len continued on once Rin was finished.

"Little did Rin know.. Mikuo dumped her the next day.. He never gave Rin a reason on why he did. He told her and leave for about 3-4 years?"

Rin bit her bottom lip, nodding her head. I gently patted her on her shoulder. Rin sighed and looked up at both Len and I with determination.

"Let's go find Gakupo."

Len and I both blinked at her words, then nodded quickly.

We, all, quickly ran towards Luka's cafe, hoping to find him there.
