Chapter 1: The first meeting

Second day of our second term and I was late for 15 mins. Yesterday which is Wednesday, is the official start of classes. I don't have a schedule before so I just chilled out.

Come on! Don't blame me, my first class is 7:00 in the morning and I'm not used to it. Luckily, I was not panting like I used to have whenever I came late in my previous classes. LOL

Anyways, my professor in Advanced Programming is already in our classroom when I came in. I was a bit disappointed because I saw the white board with scribbles saying that we have to create/write a program.

Seriously, are you kidding me? First week of class and first day in that subject and we are to create a program immediately? He actually, even expects us to do it in a flash.

Aww...

How could this day be a lucky day for me? (note the sarcasm) I thought, I don't have friends or acquaintances in that class but luckily when I decided to take a random seat, someone called me.

"Kate! Come, sit with us." I turned around and saw my previous classmates in my intro to programming last semester. I was relieved that I'm not a loner in that class.

"Ok." I just replied with a smile and took a sit near them. I don't remember them all so they introduced themselves to me. Joyce is at the left near the center aisle, Jen is right beside her, then Jen's boyfriend, Joseph, and another one is KC. I took the seat beside KC since it's the only sit not taken beside them and I'm more acquainted to her than the others.

Let me introduce myself first before I continue my story. I am Katherine Isabelle Carter, a college student. I entered a prestigious university for 4 years but on my fourth year, I have violated a rule and caused me an almost expulsion. The dean was so furious that she suggested an expulsion. The assistant dean or the discipline officer pitied me so he didn't file a case and instead, he suggested transferring me into another university.

I'm really not the kind of rebellious student who doesn't care about the school, the authorities, my parents and even me. The head of the department of engineering just wanted me to out of her sight since I'm acting I really don't like you towards her. I'm not a student who sucks up with the higher ups to gain favours or to have higher grades. As much as possible, I wanted to play fair. Since I'm not her favourite student, I wasn't given the favour in my case. They felt that I cheated them but reality check... they were the first.

I'm no saint but what I'm trying to reason out here is that they should be fair and equal when it comes to decisions. I have the same case with another student who is someone I know but they let her stay and continue.

Sucks right?

Her case is actually more disturbing but she was able to convince them that she deserves to stay. It was unfortunate for me because I think I deserve better than her. She passed her exams and her subjects by cheating rampantly while I struggle to pass them. Almost all students including my friends, the scholars and the dean's list do cheat and what's what makes me furious is that professors don't mind them even if they already saw it.
