Ms. Snob meets Mr. Intimidating

Chapter 10: Danielle

I felt heavy. Its so difficult to open my eyes.

My eyes blinked so many times. Rays of light were scattered across the room.

The ceiling has stars...

Stars? But its already morning, I assume.

My senses got awakened and then I immediately scanned the room where I was in.

Even though my whole body is aching, I tried to sat down.

I'm not in a hospital, I'm in a somebody's freaking room!

And whose room is this? My eyes wondered around the room.

This must be a kid's room. The ceiling is filled with glow in the dark star stickers and the room is painted with pink and blue pastel colors. I think I'm in the wonderland. There is a little tea table in the right side of the room. Imagine Alice in Wonderland.

On the other side is a 4 feet doll house with Anabelle inside.

Kidding! It's a cute doll smiling at me.

I tried to stand up but failed many times because of headche. My head is spinning and I can't really focus that well so I decided to go back in bed and fall asleep. I don't think I'm in trouble like I'm being kidnapped or something 'cause I feel comfortable here.

Off to dreamland...

"Katey? Wake up, time to eat so you can take your medicine."

I can hear a girl's voice.

I opened my eyes to see a cute little girl staring at me.

"Uhm... Hi!" I really don't know what to say.

"Hi! I'm Danielle! Are you my brother's girlfriend?" What? Oh kids...

Before I can answered her, JM opened the door.

"Dane! Don't disturb Kate." Danielle sat in one of the cup-like chair while she pouted her lips.

"I'm waking her up to take her meds." She said while playing with the bear beside her.

"Just make sure you don't bother her. You can play here." He sighed and as he put the soup and the meds in the table that was set up beside me.

"How are you feeling?" He put his palm over my forehead.

"Still dizzy but I think I'm getting better. I wanna go home now. Jace might be worried."  My parents are out of the country so its only Jace and me in our house.

"Don't worry. I already informed  Jace. He told me to take care of you while he's in... uhm..." Obviously, he can't just say it for the sake of Jace.

"You mean... she's with Donna and friends right?" He nodds while tousling his hair a bit.

I just just laughed at his distress. He really looked cute when he does that. His best asset is his eyes and his hair is the second. I don't know how much time I took while looking at him.

Did I move?

I just found my face near his face with only a few inch.

Should I back out? I think its too late.

And just some millimeters before our lips meet. I felt someone pulled me away from him.

"Oh no! You can't kiss each other yet! Kate is still sick. Look at her face. It's so red!" I'm not red because of my fever, its you know why.

It seems that JM was also shocked but he recovered when Danielle tugs his arm to get out of the room.

"Hey kiddo, don't mess around with the adults." Danielle ran away from him while sticking her tongue out.

When they left the room, I found myself smiling and my heart stammering.
