Ms. Snob meets Mr. Intimidating

Chapter 13: The Transferee

I'm not prepared. I was so shocked. I don't know what to do.

"What is your name Mr. Transferee?" Ms. Ana asked him.

"Jared. Jared Lefebvre from Thompson University." He said while staring at me.

I can't seem too find enough words right now. I'm surely surprised. He's here in our school. He's here in my world.

Everything stopped. Everone was surprised too. I heard some of our classmates murmuring something. Some even commented that he's hot. Until our professor acknowledge him in our class.

"Wow! You're actually the new transferee that they're talking about. Please take a seat wherever you want to." Ms. Ana told him. He is still staring at me until he gets seated. The only seat he got is not that far from mine. He could still see me without difficulty. I can feel his piercing gaze behind me.

I felt JM's hand to mine. I looked at him and he's telling me to relax. I nodded at him and continue my introduction to the class.

After one agonizing hour, the bell rang and we said goodbyes to everyone. My friends surrounded me like I was a town hall in the middle in the COC game. They led me to our favorite hang-out place.

"How did he got here? Did your cousin Cindy know this?" Joyce asked me.

"I don't know." I told her while shrugging.

"Are you okay?" JM told me as he squeezed my hand gently, drawing circles in my knuckles.

"Sweet!" Our gay friend Louie or better known as Owy commented as he approached our group.

"Have you seen the new transferee? I got a hold of him a while ago. Jared is hot!" He commented while we are looking at him/her with a sigh.

"Err... Jared is actually Kate's ex-boyfriend. Don't you know?" KC rolled his eyes at him.

"What? Jared Lefebvre is the one you're talking about? The cheater?" It seems that KC already told everyone about me and Jared. 

"Yes, the cheating bastard!" KC gritted her teeth.

"Oh no! I'm so turned off! Sorry Kate! I thought he's my ideal man already." He said with a so much disappointment for Jared.

We spend the rest of the break chatting and eating. Speaking of the devil, I can see Jared approaching us. Louie stood up immediately to greet him.

"Hi Jared! I'm Louie from Literature department." He batted his false eyelashes on him.

"Hi. Uhmm. Can I talk to Kate?" He said while looking at me.

"Oh! How did you know Kate? I don't know you're close with each other and that you know her nickname." Louie told him with bitterness. I thought Louie will flirt at him. He's really pissed with Jared right now.

"Uhm, I know her... I know her very well." He suddenly take a few steps towards me.

"Can I talk to you?" he said while he stared at JM for a while. "In private?"

I thought we already made it clear between the two of us in Cindy's party that what we have in the past will remain in the past. I guess he won't just give up. I think I need to follow it up. 

I told JM and the rest that I'll meet them in the school's cafe after 30 minutes. JM refused and volunteered to accompany me even if he stays far from us.

"I can handle him so please give us time to talk. I just want to clear things up." I told him while his eyes are like reading mine.

"Fine. Just call me when there's a problem." When they left us, I immediately started the conversation with Jared.

"Jared, What are you really doing here?" 

"I want to get what's mine."

"There's nothing your in here." He slowly closed the distance from me. I, in turn stepped backwards.

"Yes. There is..." He stopped right in front of me. He cupped my face with his hands.

"You."

"I know I'm stupid, bastard, cheater... Call me names that will at least appease you." Jared said while staring at me. His eyes are starting to wet from tears.

"I know its my fault. Everything happened to you, to us. But please, give us a chance." He told me as I look at him then, I separated myself from him.

I see his longing. Its the same loving eyes who looked at me before. I used to look at them with the same intensity but now, everthing has changed.

It's not mine anymore and it will never be will be mine again.
