Chapter 4: He Laughs Like There's No Tomorrow

Currently, the University is having the 'foundation day' and when you say foundation day, it means FUN

but not for me

KC is the team leader of the HOST CLUB that she herself volunteered that idea. You know, the typical anime Ouran Host Club style but instead of boys, it is composed of 10 girls. The theme is cute and sexy like the anime girls in lolita dress. Of course, it's pink with strawberries design at the bottom.

I'm so lucky that KC didn't include me in the list because the girls are all line up so enthused with the idea. Well, that's one of the perks of being her friend.

Everyone in our classroom has a role, 10 girls are going to be the hosts and 10 guys are going to be the waiters. The others including me will be kitchen staff, cashier, concierge, singers, bouncers, bartenders, etc. It is a cafe but with a twist wherein the guest/guests will pick one host where they can ask to sing, dance(not explicit), or just have a nice chat with them.

It started with a blast. Well, boys dominated the population of our building so they were our first customers and so on. They are willing to pay 30 bucks for 30 minutes inclusive of a group snack or dessert. There were no hard drinks so everything was okay.

not this afternoon

There was a commotion on the left side table at ther back. A group of guys are arguing because Marian, one of the hosts was asked to do a lap dance for their friend as a dare. The guy on the other group punched the guy who asked to do the dare and introduced himself as Marian's brother. Before it becomes more chaotic, everyone involved were asked to settle it in the disciplinary's office(DO). At least the 'bouncers' are useful at this moment.

While I was at the kitchen busying myself in preparing the dishes, KC opened the made up door looking exhausted and worried. Her eyes are wandering as if she was looking for something then when she saw me, she quickly waltz herself into the made up kitchen area.

"Hey Kate! I really need your help." Pleading at me with puppy ayes.

"What? I'm kind-a busy here." I pretended to ignore her pleading eyes.

I know what she wants.

"I'll give you 50 bucks for this." She said while swaying the lolita dress infront of me.

The I'm so lucky that KC didn't include me in the list and one of the perks of being her friend thought that I had a while ago was turned into a dream now. Nightmare I may say.

"I still say no. I really don't want that and I don't think it will fit me. You may want to offer your 50 bucks to others." I know, you will hate me for turning down 50 bucks but you can't blame me. I'm an anti-social person the day I left everything behind.

"70?"

"Still no." No way KC! If you add more to your offer, I might really end up saying YES!

"80?" I ignored her pleading eyes again because it might hypnotize me.

"NO" Firmly but c'mon guys, NO to lolita dress for me.

"Fine. 100 bucks baby. If you got 5 groups this afternoon, I might be more generous to you!"

She really is persistent. Who wouldn't say NO to a job right? I was actually the only one who will got  paid for this since everyone volunteered except me to be a host.
