2. An Offer

Reina: Here's the update! Sorry if it's late - I had a bit of problems writing the narrative. But it's good now.

The next day was horrible.

Nothing went right. You couldn't clean anything, as Jakob had everything cleaned. Felicia took care of the cooking and Flora had done the laundry. There was still tension between the Hoshidans and the Nohrians, but thankfully they didn't interact with each other at all.

But you were alone.

You stayed in your room and hid underneath the blankets. If you went out, Leora would surely find you. It would be better if you stayed out of her way.

You began to nod off when you heard the door open. Staying quiet, you listened as someone walked around your room.

"What is this? Perfume?"

Leora.

You freeze. What was she doing here? Didn't she have Leo to smooch or something?

But no, she was here... Rifling through your potions.

"I don't like this... It makes me sleepy."

Crash.

That was it.

You bolt put of your bed and punch her square in the jaw. She stumbled backwards in shock.

"Leave my stuff alone," you hiss.

Leora scoffed. "And why should I?"

Before you could respond, you felt Lamia take over your vocal chords. "Because I have the soul of an ancient vampire queen within me, and I will not hesitate to use it on you."

Leora paled and dashed out of the room.

Are you an ancient vampire queen? You ask Lamia.

Nope.

Then why did you say that?

Because I wanted to scare her. She deserves worse though.

You turn to assess the damage. Leora had broken one of your sleeping potions, but that was about it.

After cleaning up the mess, realization hit you.

By attacking Leora, she could kick you out.

"Oh f-" you curse before dashing about and gathering everything you had. It wasn't that much. It was your cloak, your shirt, your pants, your shoes, and the potions you made, along with the Sigma potion. After changing into your old clothes, you take one last look around.

Are you sure you want to leave? Lamia asked.

Yes, you reply.

I could kill her for you, Lamia offered.

But I could get killed. This is Nohr....

Lamia scoffed. They won't harm ya. You're adorable, like a doll.

Don't call me a doll, you admonish before leaving the room.

You sneak about, trying not to get caught. As you approach the door, Lamia begins to talk again.

What about Prince Cori?

I don't know... You think sadly as you leave the manor and gaze back. I haven't seen him...

You begin to trek home. Or rather, you got about as far as the gate before you heard someone yell your name?

Huh? You ask as you turn to the right, only to see Cori waving out of a carriage.

"Cori?" You ask as you jog to the carriage.

He grinned. "Yep! We're returning to Hoshido."

"Why so fast?" You ask.

"We have to go back to help govern," Ryoma explained as he walked up to the carriage. It was then that the other Hoshidan siblings appeared, along with Azura.

"Plus, we gotta go reintroduce Cora to Hoshido," Hinoka explained. "Being trapped by vampires did horrible things to her..."

"Hiya (F/N)-chan!" Cora called as she jumped off the top of the carriage.

"Cora?" You ask in shock.

Cora's head went down. "Xander, Camilla, Leo, and Elise are ignoring me... Leora has all of their attention. So I decided to return to Hoshido-"

You nod, understanding her situation. However, Cora kept talking.

"- and hire you as my personal alchemist."

Your head snaps back to Cora as your eyes widen. "What?"

Cora smiled. "You created some of the best potions, and it's a shame to not be able expand that knowledge base - Hoshido has potions that not many outsiders knows about."

"Are you sure?" You ask.

Cora nods. "Yep! Besides, you'll be an asset in battle and I'll pay you handsomely to brew potions."

You thought about it for a second. If you left for Hoshido, you wouldn't get to see your brother and sisters, but then you got to go to a new country, brew new potions, get paid, and avoid him...

"I'll do it."

Cora smiled and held out her hand. "Then let's go to Hoshido!"

Reina: I'll introduce Saizo, Kaze, and the other retainers next chapter.

Leo: Where was Saizo? Doesn't he protect Ryoma?

Reina: Oh, he was there, but he was invisible.

Leo: ...

Takumi: Who's the him?

Reina: Not Leo. I can guarantee that much.

Takumi: Um... 6 votes for another chapter?

Leo: If it's ten, then Reina will update this weekend.

Reina: Uh, okay....

Takumi: Why isn't reader-chan crushing on Cori?

Reina: She's trying to get over Leo. She'll like him in a few chapters.
