Reina: I'm back. Here's another chapter.

Happy birthday MissMaskedMaria!

There will be more points where the story will diverge from The Vampire's Servant, but a couple of nods to it for fun.

Chapter 6: The Banquet

You fidget nervously. "Am I ready?"

The servant nodded. "Yes."

You star in the mirror. You were wearing a fancier kimono that was (F/C) with (F/P) and a (S/F/C) obi. Your hair was adorned, and once the maid was gone, you scowled in the mirror.

I look like a doll, you hiss mentality.

At least you can walk and breath, Lamia muttered. Sometimes the dresses in Nohr and the Lyric province require those god-forsaken corsets. Consider yourself lucky (Y/N).

That is true. That maid's dress was tight.... You think. Then you think about Lamia's words. Wait, Lyric Province? Did you live there?

I'd rather not talk about it, she spat. Nothing against you, though. Just against Leora. If I speak about her.... I'd rather not.....

Don't worry. I won't ask, you reply.

There was a pause before Lamia replied. Thank you, (Y/N).

No problem.

After checking yourself in the mirror, you walk out into the corridor. There was still some time before the banquet, and you wanted to hang with Cora. Or Cori.

"Where are Cori and Cora?" You ask aloud.

No response.

You sigh and lean your head back, staring at the ceiling. "Ugh.... Did I really just ask the air for help?"

Yep, Lamia replied.

"That was a stupid question," you mutter.

"Not all questions are stupid."

You turn to see a woman in a black robe facing you, but her hood obscured her features. In her gloved hand was a white rose, tinted black at the ends. She was leaning against the wall, with one arm supporting the other with the rose. She continued to speak.

"There are a lot of questions that may seem stupid, but in retrospect, we are all learning. It can help or hinder us, depending on our circumstances. So of course, your question is not stupid. You have just moved here and haven't really been given a tour, and you just met these twins, so you don't know their routines yet?"

What the f***, was all Lamia could muster.

"Have we met?" You asked.

"No," the woman replied. "You may call me Cassandra."

You pause and tilt your head. "You seem familiar."

"It may seem so, but I can assure this is the first time we cross paths."

You snap your fingers. "You're just like Echo! She says weird stuff like that!"

"Echo....?"

"Pink haired lady with purple eyes?"

"Doesn't Ringabel."

"She can teleport."

"Nope."

"Seems like she's crazy?"

"No."

"Is really sad?"

"That's not helping."

"She has a dragon tattoo on her face," you deadpan.

The woman face palmed. "Ophelia you idiot...."

"Ophelia?"

"That's Echo's name. I've heard of her. We work for the same person, but I haven't actually meet Ophelia."

"Oh....."

"Perhaps I can meet her.... But how do I do that....?" After a second, Cassandra stares at you. "Can I kidnap you?"

"WHAT?!?!?!?!!"

She's nuts, Lamia commented.

Cassandra waved her hand. "I can't. For one thing, I'll get fired. Then Ophelia will kill me. And so is that prince who is walking towards you."

"(Y/N)?!?!?!"

You turn around and smile. "Cori! I was just looking for you."

Cori walks past you and holds his arm out, as if to protect you. "Stay away from (Y/N)."

Cassandra nodded. "Prince Cori. I promise you that I'm not here to harm your girlfriend."

Girlfriend?!?!?! You gape.

Cori and (Y/N) sitting in a tree-

Shut it Lamia.

Cori hissed, and Cassandra continued. "I wanted to make sure she is alright. Since she is, I will leave." With that, she threw some smoke on the ground. You and Cori cough, and looking up, Cassandra was gone.

"Are you alright?" Cori asks as he puts a hand on your cheek.

You nod. "Yes."

"I don't trust that woman. It'll be safer if you go with me."

Extending his arm, you take in his appearance. He wore a kimono as well, but his was black and red. You reach out your arm, and together you head to the banquet.

Upon entering, you gasp at the room. Lights strung the ceiling, giving off a rainbow of color. Servants were bustling by, and people were celebrating.

Cora ran up to you. "Hey there! Mikoto is about to present us."

Cori nodded. "Alright then. Let's go, (Y/N)."

As the three of you walk to the head of the table where Mikoto and the others were sitting, the doors blasted open, with a hooded man entering.

He scanned the room and upon seeing Mikoto, he pulled out a sword and uttered one word.

"Die."

Reina: So, shall you join the Hoshidans in battle? Or shall Echo/Ophelia and Cassandra join the fray while you protect Mikoto?

Initially, Cassandra was supposed to talk about the meaning of life, but I couldn't work it in. Sorry. I might post it in a Behind the Scenes.

Until next time
