You were apart of House Stark. Not highborn, or special, but loyal to your house. Yet it felt wrong to see the kings slayer kept prisoner and treated like crap. Jaime Lannister may have done some awful things in the past, but you still felt bad for him.

It isn't until you sneak out at night to get a closer look, that you realize just how badly the Stark's are treating him. He is chained up like an animal, bruised and covered in complete filth. Your friends had always drooled over his looks, gushing about how he is the most attractive man alive. Strangely enough, even covered with dirt, you had to admit he certainly lived up to those expectations.

"Guards, could a man please get some water?" Jaime weakly speaks, wheezing from his dry throat. You watched behind a tree as the guards exchange a look, one of them moving to open the gate.

"You want some water, huh? How about a beating instead?" the man says, stepping forwards to punch Jaime straight in the face. "That outta teach you to shut your mouth" You clutchthe canteen of water you had strapped to your side, suddenly feeling awful. Being the kind-hearted person you were, you knew you had to put an end to this. Stepping out of hiding, you approached the guards as they are distracted with Jaime. You put on your best act, knowing full well that what you are about to do is going to get you in a lot of trouble.

"Guards! Please help!!" you shout, capturing there attention. "It's Lady Catelyn! I found her murdered in her tent.." you lie, trying your best to sound convincing. You must have been a better actor than you thought as they are quick to run off leaving the gate wide open. You waste no time, running in to kneel beside Jaime.

"Lady Catelyn has been murdered?" he asks weakly, his hands covering his bruised face from the punch he just received.

"Of course not"

"Then why-" he begins, cutting off his own sentence when he lowers his hands to stare at you. He clears his throat before continuing. "Why did you tell them that?"

"Drink" you say, shoving your canteen of water in his hands while you struggle with the ropes tied around his body. He gulps down the entire thing, standing weakly once you've set him free. Instead of running off, he stands facing you.

"What are you waiting for? Go!" you shout, giving him a gentle nudge. He grabs your hand with the one he still has, staring at you as if you were the last person alive.

"I owe you my life"

"If they catch us, we both won't have a life. Go on now!"

"Come with me" he offers, catching you by surprise.

"What?"

"You can't stay here. When they come back and find I'm not here, they'll know it was you who helped me escape"

"I- I cant. I belong here" you refuse, although you know he has a point.

"But-"

"Don't worry about me. Just go!!" you shout, pushing him harder this time. He finally begins to move, staring at you over his shoulder before disappearing in the distance.

When one of the guards from earlier comes into sight, you can see the confusion on his face.

"Catelyn Stark is sleeping in her tent, completely unharmed. Is this some kind of game!?" he shouts, pushing his face in yours. His eyes move from you, to the empty cell that Jaime was once in, face filling with rage as he finally pieces everything together.

"You stupid cunt!" he shouts, slapping you hard across the face. You had known he would be angry, but not like this. "Who gave you the right to free the murderous son of a bitch who killed my son!". This time when he hits you, he uses a closed fist sending you toppling over. He grabs you by the hair, pulling you to your feet, but not before slamming your skull into the ground. Everything around you is spinning, and you don't know how much more you can take. His knee crashes into your stomach and ribs, spit mixed with blood flying out of your mouth, crashing on the hard ground once again. He sits on top of you, pulling out a sharp dagger and brings it up over his head. You close your eyes and brace for impact. You can feel blood splattering all over your face, but when you open your eyes, you are surprised to see it's not your own. The man has a sword pushed straight through his gut, blood spilling out of his mouth. He flops off of you, falling straight in the dirt. You could barely open your eyes from the pain, but can faintly make out the face of Jaime.

"You came back.." you manage to say with cracked ribs.

"Of course I did. I'm not just going to leave a brave girl such as yourself to get murdered on my behalf" he says, eyes filled with worry as he scans your injuries. You smile at him weakly, realizing that he truly is perfect. He was handsome, brave, and kind towards you.

"I did the right thing letting you go" you say, smiling up at him weakly. He doesn't reply, but instead leans down to kiss your forehead sweetly. "Don't leave me" you add, exhaustion suddenly crashing over you.

"From now on, you'll never leave my side" he replies, effortlessly picking you up in his arms.
