The knocking on your door has your heart racing, wondering who it could be at such a late hour. Being in only your night gown, you decide to ignore who ever it is. However, the second round of knocks is louder this time forcing you to crawl out of bed and approach the door. Opening it only slightly, you manage to catch the person just as they are turning to leave, their long flowing hair giving away who it is.
"Cersei?" you say, opening up the door completely. She turns to face you, a look of slight relief on her face to see you are up this late.
"I'm sorry to disturb you so late, I was wondering if we could talk?" she asks. You could tell just by reading her expression and body language that something was troubling her.
"Of course" you reply, holding the door completely open for her to enter.
You move across the room to light a candle, its faint glow just barely illuminating the room enough for you to see one another's faces.
You and Cersei were a strange pair of friends. Your opposing personalities made it difficult for people to understand why she kept you in such high regards, yet you both had a chemistry only you two could understand. Being a queen can't be easy, and Cersei found a friend in you that she could confide in whenever something was bothering her. There were times where you found yourself wondering if your relationship contained an element that went beyond friendship, but it seemed unlikely. After all, Cersei had told you about all those times with her brother.
Sitting down at the edge of your bed, you pat the area beside you to offer her a seat. You are just able to make out her cute smirk in the dark, the bed dipping slightly as her weight presses into the mattress.
"What's wrong?" you ask, curious as to what it is that's so important it couldn't wait until morning.
"It's hard for me to say" she replies, leaving you with nothing.
"Is this about Jaime?". She shakes her head no. This leaves you completely confused. You know Cersei to be a strong women, nothing usually bothering her except for a few instances with her brother. "I can't help you if you don't tell me" you add, curiosity leaving you impatient.
"Well.. I guess part of it's about Jaime" she finally begins to speak, eyes never leaving the floor. "When I'm with him.. thing's don't feel like how they normally do"
"Are you saying you don't have romantic feelings towards him anymore?" you ask for clarification. When she nods her head yes, you try your best to hide the excitement you feel.
"I don't have that loving feeling when I'm with him anymore.. But I get it with someone else". Your heart drops at her words, your feeling of excitement gone too soon. You play with your hands in your lap, afraid to ask her your next question.
"Who?"
"Someone I'm not supposed to..". She finally looks up at you, and for the first time ever you catch a glimpse of fear in her eyes. Doing your best to push your own feelings aside, you place a comforting hand on her shoulder in an attempt to make her feel better.
"You know you can tell me anything, Cersei"
"I know" she replies, shifting in her seat so that her knees are facing you. Her voice is suddenly shaking from nervousness. "I- i just need to try something".
You watch as she leans forwards, her lips unexpectedly crashing over top of yours. Your body fills with adrenaline which causes your heart to beat faster. You close your eyes and allow yourself to live in the moment, her lips on yours feeling incredibly right.
